Whoa, I like the details on texture... that's five legs? So I guess his privates are facing us then, under the cyclops cod piece of sorts. Yeah, this whole things bangin'! Wish the image was a little larger to dig the details in this. And no wrists! Just cool.

MiddleFingerRings responds:

If I uploaded a bigger version, my lazy shortcuts would be far more apparent! Thanks for the review, friendo.

Felix Colgrave? If he was upside down, it'd make more sense... as to why he's backhanding a wall on a city rooftop, yeah, not getting that. Mouth looks a bit too much to the right, since his right eye is completely obscured.

Hoboweasel responds:

He's shooting a beam of light out of his hand (the adjacent building is far away from him); the picture is also stylized to where I intentionally gave him a large mouth. And why would it make sense if he was upside down?

Another brilliant, satirical masterpiece. Yet another reason why the system is broken - otherwise, this sort of content would be in your daily newspaper. All aspects of the art in the first frames, are to wonderfully lull you in a different direction... I like the new direction you've taken with your characters, insofar as their rendered. A nice surprise, thanks!!

Flattery will get you everywhere, VicariousE

A purple-rocked city (matches the Art Portal)... an odder than usual set of creatures... and the wonderful, spoken sentiment. Sounds like a line from Serenity, the Firefly movie; the dour expressions make it that much more humorous. I'm kinda busy now, but I just had to say that!

JWBalsley responds:

Thanks a lot, I have not seen those movies yet but I know of them, I'll have to check them out soon.

Cheers!

I don't know everyone's voting low on this. For a hand painted and inked picture, this is very aesthetically pleasing for me to look at.... I never owned a Gameboy, but I'm sure there are lots of people who'd like this framed on their wall. I took a half star off because it looks a little dark and, even though the detail is precise, it (barely) looks like it's a pretty small canvas you had to work with.
Looks good and lively!

Butzbo responds:

Heh, thanks man, i made these from a stock of wooden 'squares' i found in my house, quite small squares, though.

I was walking the Earth when the original came out... 100 levels and NO saves.
Also had a creepy repetitive sound track, if kin remember.
It looks more like the original when not zoomed in, very curious... almost looks like hi-res pic art.
For creeping me out, I take 1/2 star... which unfair, I'm sure. How long to do?

BansheeIndian responds:

I started this and finished it in one day, about 12 hours total. I don't know why I did this in one day, and I'm pretty sure that it's ill advised to do such a thing, but I really just wanted to finish it.

I'm glad to see you're still posting here, and your skills are improving! I had to take a half star off for the thick outlines on the background elements (rocks and trees), but this was a commission...
The foreground critter and his reflection is wonderfully and realistically done, although I've never seen a pond look so round... a bit of a perspective problem there now that I look at it. Minor quibbles for a major beast. Good show!

Maszrum responds:

You've valid points. Thank you. :3

Ah. This draws me in quite nicely. Excellent use of brushstrokes and color in the face of darkness... a delightful piece. The dot representing his right eye looks off, unless you were planning on drawing him with a lazy eye in a later related work.
I wanna see more of the tie and suit! That's darkness for ya.

SeventhTower responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right about the eye too. I shall fix that up! Thank you for pointing that out. I probably wouldn't have seen it other wise! :O

Yeah, the perspective on this piece is an acquired taste... hard to view the whole thing comfortably on my monitor. I guess it's the alien pawn in the lower left and the feel of tightness on the center of the piece that threw me. The elements are all laid out nicely. You captured a snapshot of another world, well done!

ZaneZansorrow responds:

I like to call them putty but alien pawn sounds about right :3

Wanted to be a simple man of the Earth, enjoying art and literature, the bounty of the Earth. Instead, I have to fend against governments and principalities, global conspiracies and bad social engineering, ree, my autism
