Yeesh, 16 seconds of lead time? Great jam though! I have a guitar with a distortion like that... but, ever consider using different pedals for different sounds while jamming? You might consider it a bit of a ghetto thing to do, but it might sway the action, which is a good thing in long solo sets.
The chirping was worth the distortion and feedback :3

Destrayop responds:

Haha xD yeah I just randomly broke off into a couple short lead things in the song, it felt right.
I have thought about it, but whenever I end up jamming out I just get nice and fuzzy. Now that I've got my ts-9 hooked back into my arsenal of pedals, I might atleast play around with loudness or the piercing sound of the distortion throughout one of the new tunes.
I only wish I had moved my mic a little bit farther away from my wah pedal, that distracting squeaking would be inaudible.
Thanks for the review, and suggestions man!

As a former producer of TV shows, I used to file my BGM (background music) in folders based on how long they were. Most commercials and segments were around one minute.
The pace and the instruments used were compelling and complimentary. "Whimsical" might be the right word, but the notes were seriously well composed. It did sound a bit hollow (not enough base in the instruments that usually have it), but this lil thing is okay with me :3

Jessismith responds:

Thank you sir! Glad you liked the composition. I'll admit, it was hollow in places. I was attempting to place a few voids in the song where only a few notes could be heard. I might fill them at a later point, to make it a bit fuller sounding. And yes, whimsical was definitely the mood that I was going for!

That is very intriguing, and also another thing for me to consider at some point in the future...composing commercials! Thanks again for the inspiration! :D

Regal, but not even slightly pretentious. Deeper sounding bass instruments might've sounded better, but the selection of instruments compliments each other very well.
It's too bad we can't have our userpages play something from the audio portal when opened; I'm sure The Interviewer would certainly have done so :3

BenTibbetts responds:

Thanks! In retrospect I agree about this track needing more on the deep end, although I think that what you're hearing may be attributed to mixing issues rather than the instruments themselves. Thank you for listening.

From what I can hear, it's just as you described it... but it's recorded so low! Can barely hear the first part and some of the more interesting riffs. Maybe a sound program can filter out any latent BG noise and normalize the volume? Simple fix in Audacity man.

Destrayop responds:

I dunno man. I personally think all my stuff's soundin' good volume-wise with headphones and comp volume at 20 :l.
'Can always start recording stuff louder though. Maybe I should.
Gonna try and figure out how to better use noise removal in audacity sometime this week, I hope.
Thanks for the review bro!

I almost thought Johnny Depp went gonzo and jacked your account! A perfect likeness of Thompson's writing style... I almost thought it was a direct quote!
Like a fine, forgotten Scotch, your range of style has improved and expanded -well done. Pretty damn clean read. All one take? I would try and do it all in one, cause I hate editing. Gotta own every word...

RicePirate responds:

mmmmmm scotch........

It sounds like the Safety Dance and Toto's Africa songs, screwed a TI/99-3a computer and gave birth to this. I was gonna give you 4 1/2, but this is a wonderful, simple... better version of I used to call "Casio Music" in those aforementioned times you.... mentioned.
It's way rad.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

cheers.

What's in a name?

Definitely a low key piece, but it has a solid groove w/ out going overboard on jerky tweaking and unexpected noises. The instruments used are classics that compliment the song well.

H4llucin8 responds:

The name defines the song, bro!

Something special to NG

In the twelve or so years that I've been coming here, I've never heard such a professional read. Your part in Faux upstaged everyone else, easily. Hope good things come your way.

kaychallis responds:

Well...dang! Thanks! And thanks for checking out FAUX. Of all the characters I've voiced, Lhasa is one of my favorites.
