That was fun! Kudos for the well animated mouths :) I had a white devil as a boss >.>

Wafflestiltskin responds:

Why thank you! I'm glad someone enjoyed it haha. And those white devils be everywhere....

I'm kinda shocked the current score is barely below 3, you obviously put a lot of work into this. There's a lot of cuts, pans, action, what's not to like?! Perhaps the backgrounds and setting could've used added details, to make things look a little less artificial/CG.. for me, it doesn't detract from the work at all.

MikeAGar85 responds:

Thanks so much, I appreciate the kind words! I totally agree with you on the missing detail, but unfortunately my computer and animation program are a little dated. My computer just couldn't handle all the rendering needed. I had to use a lot of tricks and short cuts to get it at least close to the way i envisioned it. I have big plans for future animations. Hopefully i will have a more powerful computer by then. Thanks again for the critique and 5 star rating.

Good concept, expressive and unique characters, excellent FBF and VA work, though the audio master volume itself is kinda low and hard to hear in comparison to other movies in the Portal, even after jacking up the volume. I think that, and the young, immortal-feeling userbase on NG, might affect your final score(s), but that shouldn't dissuade you! This is definitely something I'd continue following.

jlorp responds:

Thanks man, the FBF was really fun to do. With the audio, I haven't really got a good set of headphones or decent speakers on my computer, so editing the audio was kind of a struggle. Glad you liked it though!

That had an impressive amount of action, good luck on your journey!

TermoShockers responds:

I appreciate the feedback and the vote of confidence.

Thanks for reviewing.

Although the last line spoken was impossible to understand, the whole compilation was great, better than great, it was better than awesome. I guess it helps that I've seen many of the sourced animations, and it just adds to the scope and quantity (and quality) of your work: concentrated kick-ass. You've been sorely under rated lately, I hope that changes here at NG, as well as in the 'mainstream media' very soon.

YULFO83 responds:

Wow, thank you so much man. comments like that keeps me going. thank you for watching, means alot to me. thanks again!

P.S. "Merry Christmas" was the line at the end. haha!

Excellent frame rate and action! Odd, I only knew people were allergic to watermelon recently.. I gave one to a busboy at a restaurant I frequent (he wouldn't accept cash as a tip). He cracked it open in the back, where a waitress had an instant reaction, and rashes on her face the next day O_o

Anyway, decent piece, if a bit short :)

Chauder responds:

haha wow I didn't even know an allergy to watermelons was real xD

I half thought the waiter would just do the world a favor, and gun those nuts down! At first I bought it, I thought this was a mostly legit eavesdrop the author overheard... then I thought, "Well maybe they all had some kinda odd 'sensitivity training', so they could deal with hostile witnesses better."

Yep, ultimately, this was a conversation between lawyers, and my ear will never be the same again. Nice frame rate, despite the smudgy simple faces, in fact, the cuts between the 4 were quite professional, and at no time did I think the author skimped on laying down the animation necessary, to show the conversation. Sure gave me some douche chills :p

elementalbadger responds:

thanks! Also, I've never heard the phrase 'douche chills' before. I think I like it.

Exceptional animation and plot, but much of the audio is overmodualted/"in-the-red". If you don't know what I mean, try watching this alongside another popular movie submission, and you'll hear how yours is almost distorted with too much volume. I really hope this movie makes the daily top 5, it's that good, just be careful of your levels while working!

tylerghardin responds:

thank you for the comments regarding the animation - this was a way long time ago and i feel i've improved since then, so this is a great thing! i didn't know much about making the soundtracks for these things back then, so a lot of stuff peaks pretty often. thank you for the 5's!

Nope, you did good man, you did good :) Got the action comparable to the very first Madness animations, congrats, only could use a little music, and maybe a bit more length. Sound effects seemed dead on lol

danreaperd responds:

Thanks! I was really scared of what reactions i would get and reading this made me how you say more confident. The music was a problem I was looking through royalty free music(don't ask why) and i couldn't find anything fitting. I really wanted to make it longer but i lack creativity and... well im Lazy i know not good traits for an animator but this was originally something i was doing while i thought about my other animation and this just seemed alot better then my other long stretched one. Once again Thank you for your opinion helps alot! even though it isn't even saved yet i am still happy about it even if it is blammed.

That's perfectly fine work, although the female voice had a substantially lower volume voice. The joke was legit and the punchline tasteful. Bit short, but if you keep linking characters, might be part of a greater whole... or something.

NG has a lot to offer animators who network, review and collaborate with others here, snag some background music from the Audio Portal next time around (even if you keep it low key). Also, the scenes look well framed, action shots, progressions, all good spot on and imaginative - try a high angle or low angle shot (or copy one's point of view/focus), next time around

Thank you, this review is much appreciated
