The picture on the left was once the banner of a local access TV show I made about a decade ago. Since my looks have fallen off since then, that'll have to stand for who I am, which is apt enough. I think the world's grown by about a billion people since then....
One thing the effects of the recent storm, Irene, have bought to light - Mother nature, plagues, pestilence, war and human intervention can reduce the happy masses into worm food very quickly, and without notice.
So if by some electronic quirk of fate you are reading this, here's a tip. Every time you buy food or petrol, put something away for the uncertain future. After all, it's not only the bad guys who get a nasty little surprise..... ask any demon!

P.S. - World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary, Copryright 1950, Volume L-Z

vi.car.i.ous (vi kar i res, vi-), adj. 1. done or suffered for others: vicarious work, vicarious punishment. 2. felt by sharing in the experience of another: The invalid received vicarious pleasure from reading travel stories. 3. taking the place of another; doing the work of another: a vicarious agent. 4. delegated: vicarious authority. 5. based upon the substitution of one person for another: this vicarious structure of society, based upon what others do for us. 6. Physiology. denoting the performance by or through one organ of functions normally discharged by another; substitutive. [< Latin vicarius (with English -ous) substituted < vicis a turn, change, substitution. Doublet of VICAR.] --vicariously, adv. --vicariousness, n.

Remember "The Lord of the Rings"? There was a line towards the end about how the "... the sun was falling in the West"? Can't think of it straight off, but I'm getting that feeling now. To me, it seems the recent foundations of America, and by proxy the Western world, were built on lies and subterfuge to satisfy the ones with more privilege.
After the 1929 stock market crash, the most popular graffiti for several years after was, "They're killing the little guy". This time, I think "they" mean to do it - literally. They've already done the financial three-card-monty act, so what's to stop our planet's power-brokers from culling the herd... not enough gasoline and chocolate for everyone ya know....

So, after a lovely evening enjoying one of the best Pico days evr, a preoccupied girl on a provisional drivers license pulled out in front of me. Guess you could say she pulled a Nene on me! The MRI sez a got a herniated muscle in my neck and the CT scan gave me the wicked shits for a week.
Sure it was a disposable sales-rep car from a bygone era, but it was the last thing my mom gave me before she passed away. It did a bang-up job keeping me alive, but it died young with less than 90k miles on it.
Below you may bear witness to my dear departed 1989 Chevy Celebrity with the 2.5 liter 100hp cast-iron engine. Be careful at intersections - ya never know what critters are at work in the minds of others.

[Update 6/2/2011] Just walked over from the courtroom where I was to testify against the girl who hit me - her folks bought her a high-priced attorney and got off with less than 100$ in fines. She also got her earlier speeding ticket reduced as well. America's all about pissing on the poor - I'll be lucky to get anything from her insurance company now. Anyone out there ever move from the US to Canada.... could use some tips.

[Reposted 6/13/2011] 'cause everyone's uncharacteristically quiet. Still love ya though.

Anyone got a moped -- howz it goin?

...

Well, at least he can travel cheaply - the rest of us Yanks would have to max out our credit cards to flee the States.... and that's only if Sony had an actual security feature on our CC numbers.
If you happen to think there's a bright side to our impending collective collapse, lemme know. This 'lil site's about the only thing I look forward to.
Have a nice weekend (that's if you still have a home that wasn't stolen by the banks or destroyed recently by the altered Gulf of Mexico jet-stream)!

So Superman defects from America?

Why no 4/20 day Tom Fulp? Out of all the misfits here, pot's probably a good common denominator. I'm sure some lurkers in the forums will make that point, so let's move on....
The below pics are for the benefit of a young artist by the name of g4mbi7girl http://g4mbi7girl.newgrounds.com/ . Having recently applied for dual citizenship from dA, to here at NG, she didn't realize the Art Portal has a thread-type commenting system; just one missive per user and a chance to respond. The piece in question http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/g4m bi7girl/but-you-ain-t-no-dancer . So, it's time for me to put up or shut up, as I enjoy reviewing the Art and Flash Portals, respectively... time to submit or die (or submit AND die from the verbal slings and arrows that are sure to follow). Meh. Can't wait to get out of the library and do Wesley Pipes for some holiday cheer!

Happy 4/20 and stuff!

For those of you new to this site, welcome! I guess the YooToob thing is paying off for both sets of parties. It probably would've happened sooner, but Tom Fulp, our Lord and High-Master, has been careful to grow NG. There were plenty of content sites in the mid/late-Nineties that were so hell-bent-for-profit, that they just folded or went pay-to-play. Here's what I'm on about http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/about-n ewgrounds/history
So if you find yourself coming back here for more goodness, click on an ad or two at least once a week. Tom loves those who click through to financial solvency. Plus, NG is based in a semi-secure part of Philly, where work is hard to find.
Much Love,
VicariousE

......... hmm?

In the daytime, from 9am-5pm EST, the loons are about. They bring with them chaos, disease and apathy that would not have been tolerated by their parents (and our grandparents would've just belted 'em one in the chops). I used to call these frantic, humanless drones "witless consumers", and the name still fits. They couldn't be bothered to put their shopping cart (trolley) away when finish shopping. These day-crawlers seldom look you in the eye (results may vary by geographical location). They couldn't be bothered to investigate the results of their actions (ie: elections, consumerism, news consumption, bad driving....)
Perfect examples: while typing this in the library, so far, an old lady sat in a chair for 30 seconds, plied her pile, left several things behind at my desk, then left her chair pulled out blocking the lane. Then a fellow nearby sneezed, without covering his mouth. "Bless you", I said against my better judgment. He soundlessly let the bacteria-mist fall, and is still milling around looking for a DVD that probably is not here.
When I used to work nights, I was largely free of the misery the rat-racers. Not long after 5pm, people tend to let civility creep into their behavior. Amicable conversations, good manners... shit I had it made! Now that I'm jobless, I have to deal with unionized local, state and federal employees who don't have to worry about job performance so as long as they show up on time. ....
If you're under 18 and reading this, I apologize deeply. I wish I could unsee the degradation of our Western civilization-type culture. I wish I could tell you the future will be brighter, with real choices and accountability for all. Sorry kids, the sun is setting in the West, and it's time to bundle up against the cold.

Why I prefer the night and cannot unsee the day
