My friend, that was awesome. It sure seemed like you synched the audio to the action, or was that just years of experience, and a love for what you do? The very last scene, with the sepia filter, really put a smile on my face, dunno why, I guess I'm just proud of your accomplishments (hence my username lol)

Have a very happy, prosperous and loving new year :)

Butzbo responds:

Thanks a lot for the thoughts, glad you liked it!
I normally work with plenty of sound effects, but there were some parts of the song that could work pretty well in the animation without sfx, so I mostly tried to synch it to the music to change a bit; and also to give the song some more 'priority'.
Happy new year aswell :D

Wow, I just got hit with a huge chuck of plot, and I'm properly impressed. Animation and sound work are much improved from previous submissions, to the point where I think this should be a major Hollywood release. The plot and characterizations have been consistent and most appealing. Thanks for this wonderful present!

Wishing you and yours the very best new year possible! Sorry I missed the cancer charity thing, had less than 2 months to move my old bones off the farm, and eventually find another...

Yup, cat videos... short, but good.

Quite decent, but it might be better rated 'T' for teens, than for 'E'veryone, as it is now...

I could stand to see a few more of these. Slightly too much video for NG, but that's easily forgivable.
Did you meet the owners before doing any of these ads? A little research goes a long way, in getting a good, airable (for TV/local origination) commission. Couldn't help but think there was a way the burglar could've had knife marks already in him (digital masking, up until the stabbing began)... there's always a plethora of cat skinning ways, even optical ones. Eh, forgive my armchair quarterbacking, it's a decent ad!

AlantheBOX responds:

well you're in luck! i just uploaded another one!

Excellent collaborative effort. Wow, it's 3 years since I last saw this tale of Christmas. The resolution seems a little low, but the tracking of the images, VA work (difficult script, to be sure!), all stellar :)

Gianni responds:

The prototypes of the file were actually just abstract blocks of general color because Pax sarcastically interpreted what I meant when I said quality didn't matter too much, and thought it would be hilarious to give me porn-esque blurring, and poetic considering the comic's original creator.

Thanks as always Vic, you're the king.

Merry Christmas dude, nicely done :)

Wow, that came out great: good frame rate, animation of the construction paper cutouts, sound effects. Was the noise/background static/wind noise intentional? Seemed a tad over the top, barely worth mentioning..

Btw, could you add these to the author comments?: frame rate, number of frames, how these images were captured (scanner/camera), how many hours it took to get every animated frame captured and in place. Seeing work like this, give me hope that one day, I can animate something like this (and not use a finicky pricey animation program) I docked half a star, because it seemed overly simplistic and short, especially the end - minor quibbles, since everything is lovingly rendered and lit/focused well :)

CameronMc responds:

Wow, thanks for being so nice about this little thing! I wanted some ambient outside noise in the background so it didn't seem as stark as it looks, and to kind of sell the joke at the end. Probably was a little too much tho...

As far as the specs go, it was about as basic as you can get:
It was shot on 2s (so 12fps)
I shot it with my iPhone 5, held down by books on a shelf over my desk.
The app I used was "iMotion", but that doesn't really matter. the most important things are:
-Some kind of Onion Skinning feature to see you're last frame
-1080p or higher export (this particular one has that if you export an image sequence)
-Some way to take the picture without touching the camera (This app let me use the button on my headphones)
I then edited this in Adobe after effects & premiere, but I didn't do anything you couldn't do in any other editing program.

Animating straight ahead took about 7 hour total for the 30 seconds of character animation. This was one of those things where I just did it and the joke was whatever, but I did take the actual animating pretty seriously, so thanks for appreciating that :)

Audio was recorded and mastered a bit too loud, some loss of clarity... but I like the enthusiasm of the read, even if I have no idea what's going on! Really short, meh, just spend more time on the next one

We owe our entire world to the bravery of two Forkheads, from the twisted plans of teh purple pacmen... nice, especially for two hours of work, BG tunes also fit right in.
