The surreal part of this works well. It's never easy to render a car by hand, since there's little leeway with all the straight lines and carefully crafted fenders and such, but I like this piece. Did have to knock off a half a star for slight sloppiness in and around the background. There's love in this piece, no denying that ;)

johnny665 responds:

My friend, you're right, and I can't thank you enough for your feedback. It was more or less intentionally made to be a bit sloppy, cause most of my works are that way, I like to capture the moment when the image is formed on the retina, hence it's not perfect. I tend to think about Cezanne, and his "large bathers", the painting is not even finished, but I leave a space for others to fill in mentally. I like to give the viewer a part in the piece, the love I invest in my works is sent back to the viewer.

Love the look on her face when she notices the pastries, very cute and atmospheric!

mogy64 responds:

thank you! mood was pretty important for this one, so im glad it got across

Your pieces are looking better all the time; sharper w/ clearer details. Kinda figured you'd keep refining your technique :)

ponderous-plants responds:

Thank you, I've gotten better but still have a ways to go.

Waow, looks like an exhibit at Madame Toussiant's. Excellent.

MiddleFingerRings responds:

Thanks man! He does look a little waxy haha!

Never thought I'd type this in a review, but the yellow rays around the butt give the impression his one butt cheeck is kinda lumpy, that's all. Magnificent piece.

Pinkskadink responds:

Haha thanks! I just noticed that he does have a lumpy butt

Guess half a star off for background, kinda hard to tell where the ground ends and sky begins, no biggie.

Okay, now that I've got you here.... I should be old enough to know who Daniel Johnston is, but had to look him up to find out he's a musician who self-promoted himself in the 1980's and inspired Kurt Cobain. I just wanna know, where the banana girls come from - were they ever a thing in the real world, or just an invention of yours? Thanks in advance, love your stuff man. BTW, pretty sure you've been banned from Florida, not that anyone there would notice...

RistoKy responds:

Yeh the Banana Chicks haven't been a real world thing yet. Maybe/Hopefully I'll be able to turn them :) And Yes they are my invention. And also tnx for loving my stuff :)

Wait, in the first panel Jo's got no glove, but the final 2...

cecameron responds:

Oops! I'll fix that. Thanks for pointing that out!

I like everything about this piece, except the ears... which aren't lining up with where she's looking.

Precipitation24 responds:

Thank you!!
Umm....I'll be careful from now on.

Fell, whoops. 2 lines to the first l and it's fixed ;)

Lavanien responds:

Oh noooo, cannot believe that I didn't notice that!
Thanks for pointing out xD

I'm not a chess nerd, but considering the piece as a whole, wondering why all the chess pieces are the same color... was kinda hoping to see the opponents winning (or next to winning) move, or a clue as to the Complainer's boggle, or maybe he's just pervasively pissy

Still a fantastic 5/5 scene, made me wanna complain lol. Epic series so far, admirable achievement.

Furious-Monkey responds:

The chess pieces are all the same color because only one side has chess pieces. (The Administrator) The Complainer has checkers.

I played a few turns to make sure the pieces are in legitimate positions.
