Lordy, lord, 8 Livestream emails, and two of them showed up after you finished this!

It does look very detailed and the subject is touching, though I don't know how I'd feel with an educated toaster tending to me in my final hours O_o A chest wound like that, wouldn't take long for Mr. Reaper to collect his quarry... Still, pretty nice a recon drone would take the time to tend to a citizen, guess the mission went FUBAR.

Paxilon responds:

Ahhaha, noooo! I was having a lot of trouble with the stream so I had to restart it roughly ten billion times. I hate Livestream Broadcaster.

"DO NOT WORRY, CITIZEN, I WILL HAVE YOUR ENGINE DE-GREASED IN 17.459 SECONDS. ALLOW ME TO OPEN UP YOUR CHEST COMPARTMENT TO ACCESS YOUR MAIN PUMP." Although I do remember the Terminator being a fairly efficient field medic in T2.
"I have detailed files on human anatomy."
"Sure, makes you a better killer."
I don't know who I would rather have at my bedside, though--Arnold or this cute little toaster?

When I used to paint, I'd get the same disconnect in what I had done, probably from doing the details in close, and working outward. I'd say the dark shading is good, but not varied or detailed enough (looking at the top of her dress near the shoulders, face and neck depth a bit)... it's a toughy to review :\

Rrachel-chan responds:

Thanks :) and you're right, I didn't putted much shading on the clothes, I'll try to give them more time for my next painting

That's what you consider a concept?! Sure looks awfully fleshed out to me! Love the gears on the left, and the walls of speakers. So many details, and yet none of them familiar or telling, as to the nature of this lab (other than sound).

Kamikaye responds:

Sure it's fleshed out a sa picture. But maybe it can be a concept for a 3D space ? :)
Maybe I'll build that in Space Engineers when I get ahold of some round blocks :D

Truly exceptional work, the details pop right off the page. I'm glad her face is so well structured and shaded, really sets this piece to a higher standard.

xaolan responds:

Thank you ^u^

That's properly good, in all the ways that matter. Should've given him a bigger package, lol! Head seems a bit short, maybe his jaw got knocked off in a Bathurst brawl between Chevy and Ford blokes ;)

Rennis5 responds:

lol yeah,
when I was drawing it I said to myself that I needed to make his head bigger
"right after I do this other part" and then I completely forgot about it,
maybe his legs should be a bit smaller too but I was rushing to get this done in one day before going out to celebrate the day.

Thank you for your comment :D

A lot to like about this piece, so I'll point out: the hand on her hip (and to a lesser degree the other one) looks odd, thumb seems set too far back towards the wrist. The lizard critter's facial features seem flat, but the teeth have a nice shadow shading, makes it look dimensional.

billtheartist responds:

thank you for the review. I did know about the hand. That bothered me. I was so far along in the piece. I forgot to go back to it.

It certainly looks reality based, like an alternate reality, late 20th century version of Top Gun :) Congrats on the Front Page, you earned it! That being said, 2 quibbles: the gauss/filter effect is hiding your talent/details, it reminds me of old gif compression, but it's a bit much, at least, for a whole piece.

Secondly, the displays in front of the pilot seem like they'd obscure his line of sight, a very crucial part of flying a war machine... unless his visor transmits unobstructed visuals? There's a commercial airplane modder who's installing sheets of OLED across the interior cabin; when turned on, cameras along the hull transmit the picture to the inside of the cabin, so it's looks as though you're flying! Stephen King described the tech in one of his characters: Blaine the Train.... anyway the control panels look primitive compared to the rest of the tech and styling.

mematron responds:

It's my lost and found technique I picked up from watercolor painting.

It's not a war space plane; Line of site can be deceiving in space especially when this craft is surrounded by overlapping waveguides. The 3D display modules are appropriate for it's operational needs. This is based on real science not a collection of parts placed just to look cool. For what this does It must look this way.

Also this is the co-pilot position of the plane. You can even see the main pilot seat ahead of his position. Look at my other illustrations http://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/mematron/solar-striker-cut-away related to this piece to see that i'm not jerking your preverbal chain.

You clearly put some work into this, and it's an improvement over your old work in a lot of important ways. Still, try and improve how smooth/sharp/precise the linework is - when you look in close, sometimes it looks a little grainy and wavy.

The character's got a nice layout, looks really sharp dressed and ethereal to boot

thechosenusernam responds:

I'll try my best next time and thank you so much! i'm so glad that you liked my new icon drawing!

I missed seeing this when it came out! That faic... is loveable :3 I will say off the top of my head, you took some risks with the text, can't say what though. The red anarchy A under Shad almost looks like a branding (either definition lol) method, which is awesome! The whole thing is posh and I love it.

deathink responds:

Thanks a lot my man. I used to make ads for a living, so I still have a little "branding" flair haha.

Very cute :3

Jinx-25 responds:

Thank you very much :)
