Tear as in a teardrop, or tear as in rip?

Oh whoa, someone FP'ed this piece, congrats! I was gonna say something about the apparent fuzziness/lack of detail, but there is detail around the mouth, hand and elbow, and it seems to be just about right. You always seem to make faces, you wouldn't wanna look at long (in observing the eyes, nose, overall gaze)

linda-mota responds:

Both. I like both it gives it a double meaning. I just noticed that made my day! This was a tiny peice of metal sheet that was in the bargain bin at the craft store so i wanted to see how small i can go with detail on a 2in.x4in. piece while i'm working on the bigger piece. I noticed a lot of peple say that about my faces/bighead people, which is good.

That's a damn fine take on the Teen Titans! Looks like you got your money's worth from those markers, the coloring's exceptional!

LemKuuja responds:

Damn right! I didn't buy any too expensive markers, and surprisingly they worked as fine as copics! :o

The original version was a tad dark, you did a good job lightening it, bringing out some of the details!
Excellent tribute to a bad dog... and I agree with the 2 commenters before me, it's like Rocko channeling Tommy Vercetti :)

DrugFueledAnimals responds:

Haha you guys are quite right! It does kinda look like Rocko mixed with Tommy Vercetti. How did i not make that assumption myself while i was working on it? xD Glad you think i did right with the polishing. I too felt like it could be done at least a little bit better when i uploaded it the first time.

Hope the tat comes out looking this good!

HeartlessArts responds:

me too aha

Some of the older comic books I read, had characters that looked like these... it's funny how I haven't seen characters (drawn) like this for so long! They look mostly harmless ;)

SerPounce responds:

Thanks man, I draw a lot of inspiration from older artists, I like implying lines a lot. You know, it's times like those, when I'm locked in a room for 7 hours, reading a book about a man from Betelgeuse and his adventures, that I really wish I'd listened to my mother when I was a kid. "Why, what'd she say?" I don't know, I didn't listen.

From Fallout 3, very nice! Had to glimpse the RobCo boiler suit to jog my memory...

bella-art responds:

Hehe thanks! :D

Severely creepy. I like the indentations you pressed into the paper, creating composition for the two figures. Did I mention creepy? Normally something this scratchy and monochrome would not be well accepted (if at all) into the Art Portal, however the figures do generate a genuinely creepy presence.

Ugh, man does not behold the gorgon and live :p It almost looks like a bird shitting out it's mate, child or familiar or something... not something I'd wanna analyze, pretty powerful piece.

linda-mota responds:

I just cut these out and stuck them together since that seemed like the better option. in retrospect i could've edited them together, but this one was kinda interesting. i think for the art portal as long as the concept is good and you can see what the hell is going in it's ok. That doesn't excuse laziness though. I felt like i should put these studies up and a comparison to the final product you'll see in a few weeks. Though shitting out children seems to be the mentality for those who like the image of a family, but thinks the commitment to another life is "sooo hard". Either that or a man who doesn't understand (and will never) the concept of motherhood. or at least normal mothers who want their children and love them.

Very soothing, the color scheme is so complimentary! I love the variation and complexity of the background stars, as well as the cloud cover/nebula effect, and in the asterisks (lol) as well. Nicely done! Was this a class assignment, or just something you did?

Happy-Little-Trees responds:

Yeah it was a pop art assignment but I wanted to do something different but have it still be pop art in a way and ended up vomiting that out

Another exceptionally well done piece! Interesting how they're standing below the floor (or is that my perspective?), and the mirror is a dark, rough thing, reflecting the dark, rough things beneath the couple.

linda-mota responds:

the floor thing was an accident actually and i kinda went with it. kinda added to the ambiguity. i think i guess. they did start out as a couple, but not really. to each's own. :)

Very nice, the eyes look especially glass-like, lots of other good details flow from that point, well done!

GirlGregg responds:

Thank you! I am always trying to improve my compositions. I'm happy you noticed!
