Very nice indeed! Who knew a creator of (great) pixel games, could be such a good artist! Her outstretched fist looks a bit floaty, but I'm sure it's her padded, poofy shoulder that enhances the illusion. Love to see more work like this!

AdventureIslands responds:

I've been always a graphics artist, but I started doing pixel art and games about 2 or so years ago. I have a proper dA account too but I figured I could start posting my things here too: http://adventureislands.deviantart.com/

Like most of the work you've showcased here, it's so full of detail and style, it's hard to review! The only quibble I have with this piece, are her legs. The apparent length would make her a giant, they're a bit too thin, and the lower legs (below the knees) look awkward and too short. Left boot also looks a tad misshapen.

clayscence responds:

thanks! yeah the legs are weird XD that's why I don't like this one so much. But she has huge platforms, that's why she looks bigger though

This teems with oodles of awesome.. it's just the girl in the lower right... waaay too much hair for a normal sized head! Could almost say the same for the blonde, but the 50's and 80's were all about big hair. Still, a nicely composed and detailed scene!

The colors in this picture are getting me so high right now, I can't even write a proper review!
Tasteful looking skulls are worth their weight in blacklights. Everything looks sweet as hell!

AH! My eeeyyes! But it's not a bad take on abstract art at all! As a lay person, one who has not studied the arts, I'd say it looks like a playing card composition...
The red hand kinda sums up LIz Taylor's life, and career.. guess you get 5 stars!

Spikedemonic23 responds:

Lol, thanks! It does a number on the eyes. I did like the textured areas against the solid colors ^_^

Crisp looking... also looks like it got Lyme's Disease, or maybe it came of the set of the original Star Trek TV series. Decent contrast and composition.

Eww, is that a heart-plug attached to an anchor? How very 'Dune' of you! The Harkonen Captain, blinded by duty, as well as anchored by it, must melt beneath the waves.
5 star review, because this piece looks like it stands by itself quite well, even if it is a bit specific looking.

The left eye's center is a bit too bright to be a could... aliens? Btw, what am I seeing the sky through? It's either a fence with a weird round arch, or a car's back windshield (defroster wire)... either way, it's got a damn eerie feel, with a deep dark depth!

LittleLuckyLink responds:

Hehe, thank you! I always enjoy throwing in a creepy thing here and there, glad you liked it! Also, yeah the perspective is a bit strange, but it's actually a picture of basically what one would see if they were to lay in my bed and look up out through the window on the wall next to it. The bar is part of my bed, and the black lines are my window shutters silhouetted against the moonlight. I guess on second thought I could have gone without them, but eh, true to the nature of what I see I suppose, heh.

I like the positions and a lot of the anatomy (yum!), but on most, the roundness of the hips is too high... or maybe it's the 'fat displacement problem'. Artistic license vs real-life-anatomy are two very different things. Try the latter of the two (real-life), then the fun stuff goes easier!

bocodamondo responds:

yeah, id like to make anatomy drawing close to reality but not too much that it looks like just cartoonised humans like in marvel/DC comics for example
