This is really something bro. I haven't read Asimov in a long time, but this piece certainly will compel me to seek out the reference story... at least I know it's something my crappy library will have.

Considering what's outside my door ("junk"), this work is personally quite moving, since I'm the robot in this equation O_o It's an awfully large file, took a few tries to get it completely loaded, but I appreciate your work in general... Happy Robot Day, glad to see this piece did a double duty!

Butzbo responds:

I kind of broke the page somehow with the file, Hahah, I made it a bit smaller after realizing that.
thanks for the review!

Oh yeah, now you're talking! How tough was the coloring job? Pixel by pixel?

PoisonHeart responds:

thanks, V! No, this was a 3D model with some textures applied on top of primer coats. Hardest part was getting all the textures to wrap right and for all the colors to work together! i'm so sad this took more than a few hours to paint and model T__T

It is more or less based on the ship you see in the current demo of Iron Plague!

Indeed it is a great animated movie! They look like they haven't eaten much since the 1980's (a low waist-to-butt ratio is the modern trend, true), but their likenesses and the diametric composition are quite befitting.

The hair looks like coiled headphone wires, awesome! Great work on the mirroring. How was this done, and on what program? If you make 3 more that look this good, you'll be scouted for the Art Portal for sure!

Fleshbag responds:

Thanks man ;) I have many of those I just don't know should I upload them here. It needs more tits for newgrounds :)

Doesn't have to be aerodynamic to be cool. Just slap some paint on there and it should look sweet! I guess you could make the two tips at the end look more like gun barrels, maybe some other mechanical embellishments, but that could be done with paint and still look like a 3D vessel.

PoisonHeart responds:

ah, yeah! ought to clap some guns on there, maybe some weird tubing and other features to add depth. the painting will be the hard part....

thanks, V!

This is way better than your last movie lol. Really enjoy the minor movements in all the little details; very fluid loop. Is this a happy spacedog? Can't tell it's tail isn't wagging.... it just keeps staring into my eternal soul O_O Looks like old hi-res Disney cell animation; very tight and deliberate detail to render a real life feel... or it's just After Effects :)

Might I suggest seeing Ed Roth's Ratfink, and his stylized hot-rod pieces... this reminds me (oddly enough) of his work, only a but more primitive render.... http://www.ratfink.com/rat-fink-cartoon.php

Just groovy man. Epitome of composition and form. I like the varying sharpness-es. It's intricate in a most pleasing way, which is not an easy thing to pull off. Damn sweet piece, this.

Wicked good!! The lower stomach and overly large hips look a bit off, but everything else is gellin' nicely! Very deliberate and careful color shading make this an epic piece indeed!

Wanted to be a simple man of the Earth, enjoying art and literature, the bounty of the Earth. Instead, I have to fend against governments and principalities, global conspiracies and bad social engineering, ree, my autism
