Damn, I've acquired a penguin addiction from your work! Simple and cute, tastefully so.

Almost looks like a Reaper from the Mass Effect series! Gotta love the fine details, it's like, the Six Million Dollar Flea... we can rebuild him, make him stronger lol!

Wow, that is awesome. I pegged your (you) image from the thumbnail; getting the eyes right is sooo important, and I think you did. Can't ignore the skillful shading either, it's quite masterful.

Sabtastic responds:

Aw thanks!! ... I think this is the first self portrait I've been confident enough to post to my personal art gallery. The rest are shameful instagram posts or hidden away in my C: drive. I hide behind simpler cartoony self portraits a lot.

I prefer this to the Japanese nosebleed drip! And her... close inspection of the crime scene, lol.

Her feet seem amazingly small, but the composition, pose.. all that jazz really melds together quite well. It has a nice element of mystery, regarding the disposition of the lady on the mattress... Looks like it could be a novel illustration, really :)

XxThumbsuckerxX responds:

Thank you! I must confess I think I accidentally & unknowingly chopped her lil toes off in the process of darkening things. Thank you for bringing it to my attention; & thank you for the well written review (': x

Cryptic, but stylish! Interesting knees on the guy sitting below.

Cyberdevil responds:

Oh, those knees are actually supposed to be the cuffs of his shorts, apparently not so clear. :D Thanks for commenting!

Excellent, very crisp contrast! Looks like the color palette came from an old Lite-Brite box :) Love the layers and seamless action.

Turned out better than "pretty good", especially the backgrounds! Obelix (bottom right) never looked more content! It was a genuine pleasure working with you on this, and I hope you get many more commissions.

doublemaximus responds:

I had a very wonderful time working with you on this too! :D

It's like, bitchin' good man, a real spiritual transference of the character... to real life.
Now... can you make any money from doing this? Hope next Halloween, you get some pricey commissions from the folks in your hood!

SubNoctem responds:

I really appreciate that man!
You know, I never even thought of making some of these up for friends or for commission, that is something I'm going to have to seriously consider. A great idea!

Reminds me of an Elton John song... "someone saved, someone saved, someone saved my life tonight, with a soccer ball" :) Ever since I saw Easy Rider as a kid, I always fancied a trip to NO (New Orleans). Loose morals and gumbo. Now industry has loose morals, and the gumbo... is now a different kinda soul food :|
