Tis a magical fire, full of chaos.

GTChimp responds:

Yup, that was what I was trying to achieve :)

Damn man, I haven't went through hoops like that in a long while lol! Congrats on the line art and the analog to digital conversion magicks ;) Has a soft rotoscoped feel to it.

GTChimp responds:

Thanks :)

Very clever, simple and organic looking. I hear Dave Brubeck's "Take 5", see this on the cover of The New Yorker (featuring an article on your accomplishments), and smell clove cigarettes and stale exotic beer.... Nice piece. Eyes might be a tad too far apart, has a nice presence.

BenTibbetts responds:

Thank you. I'll take the cigarettes, beer and Brubeck, but let's hope The New Yorker maintains higher standards. ("This just in: some guy does something! More on page 23! Also, the Internet: replacing the magazine or just a passing trend? Magazine editors weigh in!")

I don't know what it is about your work that draws me in, gets me lost in the context. And certainly, your comments about the piece, as well as its name, conjures solid reference points to dwell upon.

A lot of conveyors in action... makes me wonder if you've ever passed by a refinery or coal run power plant before. You must've been thinking of that Mad Max film where a bunch of survivors took over an oil refinery, only to have Lord Humungous lay siege to it...

LittleLuckyLink responds:

Thank you! I've come to start looking forward to your reviews. This one is actually based off of the Austin White Lime Co., a limestone refinery located down the street and through some woods and twisting, seemingly endless train tracks. I stumbled upon it one day after going on a long adventure to search for a massive water tower that I always see over the horizon (the largest in the US actually.) Loads of fun facts behind these places in the small area. I honestly did have some higher hopes for this piece, but I guess I can always revisit it later on.

Additional fun fact, I would consider this a prequel to my previous painting, The Last Day on Earth. Basically something in its golden days before its downfall. The factory can be seen in the background, too.

Very stately and detailed. Hopefully you'll draw a picture of the king who journeyed after her, and his fate. Had to really look hard at the branches' shadow, but I can see it's pretty close to the mark, as far as realism. Nicely done!

I guess the customer's always right lol! Still, plenty of good form, proportions and purple!

Breathtakingly vibrant and detailed! Only quibble would be, the hand holding the glass doesn't have enough palm to it. The colors and composition of elements is stellar, very attractive! And cinnamon sticks too :)

doublemaximus responds:

Thank you very much! Yeah, I do see where the hand is a bit skinny.

I'm pretty happy with the results too! Very glad this got Front Paged; the amount of effort that went into this is plainly obvious. Impressive.

OzynO responds:

*bows* thank you VicariousE

Hi Lily! Very cute!

AilieTheWolf responds:

thank you

Napoleon used to say about promoting officers, "Yes, yes, he's qualified, but is he lucky?" Maybe go ahead and find a job, then maybe your luck in graphic arts will blossom. Rare time, is time well spent. I used to get so much more done online, when I was standing the neighbor's garage, stealing their wifi.

Really luscious work here, don't stop believing!

Wanted to be a simple man of the Earth, enjoying art and literature, the bounty of the Earth. Instead, I have to fend against governments and principalities, global conspiracies and bad social engineering, ree, my autism
