I'm glad you described the technique to Mr. Tibbetts, because it befuddled the fuck out of me at first glance! After a few thousand NG Art Portal pictures, you kinda 'get' how certain things were rendered... If you could borrow someone's very good scanner, don't be afraid to rescan this at a high rez, even 5 MB!

Happy-Little-Trees responds:

i have a scanner its just not working lol i'll try to fix it some time though
and i told you my materials used for this already on my post

It's either an ice tree that's shattered, or its a tree viewed from another dimension. Either way, the 'leaves' of the tree are astounding. I've heard of cubism, dunno what it is specifically, but this sure looks good from an aesthetic point of view!!
Guess I dropped a star due to the shape of the trunk of the tree, which looks rather pole like... oh, wait, I see branches... it's just a poofy tree, like one a Lorax would protect?

PoisonHeart responds:

thanks for this feedback, V....

i just painted while thinking of a dream i had to let go once. i also had to edit this response after thinking about it...embarrassing! i didn't give the trunk much thought, but then again if the trunk of a tree is the foundation...

I will try harder next time!

I never thought of your work as furry oriented.. anthro or alien, sure! This is set on an alien world (the Delura world), with technology far more advanced than ours. All this guy wanted was some ice cream!

Looking forward to seeing how this particular comic plays out... loving the intrigue!

Tanadrine-Studios responds:

That's my mindset on it: I see Anthros in Delura as just another alien race that intermingles with the others in intergalactic commerce.

As long as you can think outside of it, you should be alright :)

PoisonHeart responds:

hmmm....should've painted door... >__>

Sure looks like analog artistry t' me. I love illustrations like this, deeply. A lot of old books I read, had fine work like this, with watercolor (3 color dotted ink prints)... but not nearly as diversely colored as this! Not thinking of Prince Valiant... but maybe I am.

dommi-fresh responds:

prince valiant... what a handsome fella

Picture and poetry both kicking ass! Looks a little undefined (or fuzzy) at first glance, but there's some great detail, though the pentagram lines could've been a bit straighter (love the human figure and the bottom ribbon on it!!) Details in the hat are awesome; the star at the top looks like it's stitched on, and the gold rope across the brim is perfectly done! Great composition and colors at work too, a damn fine piece indeed!

LittleLuckyLink responds:

Thank you very much! Yeah it actually is a bit fuzzy unfortunately, it was really hard to get a decent picture of this one.

There are some nice details in the hair, but it took over a minute just to see it :\

bloominglove responds:

Thank you. Yeah, the file is huge. I'm really sorry about that. >_<

Lol, they still make that stuff? Leave it to the old man to still have some!

JWBalsley responds:

Rofus just loves to party, the hard way :0

Dat hair... I want tattooed on my bald spot :) Excellent work on the color shading, congrats on the new brushes!

bloominglove responds:

Haha! Thank you! :)
