I never thought I'd give a 5 star rating to a Sonic character, but BAM, here tis. Anyone bitches about a missing BG can get stuffed - this piece pops off the page. The attention to the shading with regard to the light source is brilliant. The layout of the face, eyes and mouth are all well placed and composed. Some damn fine work on the shading - the hand and the coarseness of the hem of her dress, compliment the smoothness and opacity of other areas like the face and the hair behind her head....

Thank you for the wonderful comments! It's nice when I get long messages, both for constructive purposes and positive comments.

My what big eyes she has and uber tall too. The details are sharp and convincing. The accuracy of the lines is a refreshing thing; you can lose yourself in the details, and never once think it was too much. 'sa damn fine outfit, just needs a touch of texture and contrasting colors :3

Why is there hair colored goo spewing out the back of her head (below her ears)? They thoughts about her hair?
Context aside, I like the body shape and layout of features, but the background is puzzling.... it seems centered around her mammary glands. The no gusta look is nice :3

FrostDrive responds:

I have a friend who draws slime hair alot.
I thought it was cool so I did it too.

The three critters are distinctive, but not overwhelming; background is pastel, soft and lovingly detailed.... for a children's book, but certainly not a cheap or gaudy one.
It's really good to see something other than yer ol' OC's :3

LovelyKouga responds:

Thank you! ^^ I used a watercolour paper texture for overlay effects~
My OC's are my hobby, really, but I can imagine it might get tiresome seeing them over and over. XD

Ooo, it's winking and smiling and twitching :3 Aside from the malformed, out stretched hand, this is pure cuteness! I did notice a color change on the smaller critters ear band (and shoe) in one of the frames, but this is a very pleasant picture. I guess it could use a background of some kind, but the subjects stand out nicely.

Thanks So Much! x3

Sure it's simple, but you pulled off everything you put in your description... I especially like the true body form (as true as a cartoony blonde can look) of the woman - background and outsized text balloon also work well. The facial expression and body language: priceless!
Oh ghlow... where are you? Really missed you and work on here and at dA as well!! Plz come back to us :3

Hard to critique something so well done.... didn't even notice the lil dragons, till I got curious about the twinkly disturbance in the water :3 Guess the mama's off to the left, minding the kids- very nice work, no dead spaces here!

No matter which way I look at it, his eyes seem to follow me....
Uh, nice symbolism regarding the sad, searching nature of youth today?
It'd make one helluva desktop background for those seeking motivation/personality :3
There is a definite something in this picture, just can't quantify it beyond what I said.

Wow, this is a nice piece! The shading really helps, as does the detail in the hair and clothing. The faces and expressions in your work are also improving, yay!
