'It's not what you shade, but what you don't shade', this is a nice piece, but I can't help to think you gave up on detailing parts of his suit (below the chin area), because his head came out okay, didn't wanna risk switching gears from old flesh to old suit and tie... anyway, overly anal/critical review from me, 'cause I'm following you now ;)

OK wait, yeah the lighting's coming from above.. so his suit should be a lot darker, but then the whole scene would be a lot darker, and that's more pencil than this piece requires, so yup, good job on this!

Welcome to the site, hope you find this a conducive and helpful place to post your art pieces!

MissClown responds:

I appreciate the honest feedback, it helps me get better and your right I focussed on certain areas and neglected others. I might go back to it and darken certain areas. Thank you for the nice welcome and the feedback :)

The firewood and fire seem okay, but not great, it's likely the hardest thing to render in the whole of art.

That was the review, now the comment to the artist: Your previous works are amazing, the textures and detail you add to things is precisely what a good artist is supposed to do. No beach or campfire looks the same, yet you impart details that other artists would overlook. Memories are based on the minute textures, smells and emotions we see every day.

Anyway, some of your previously posted art pieces were given unfairly low scores, and I hope you can see past that... that said, be careful with faces! You're surrounded by some of the most unique looking people (St. Petersburg) in the world, you're very close to rendering them perfectly, just watch out when placing the eyes, getting fingers just right, etc.

And thanks for sharing your work with us, best wishes!

Yup, impressive, a bit too tall, but awfully fucking impressive. There's a few minor embellishments I could take or leave, but on the whole, a damn fine update to the lil titch. I commissioned a few Asterix pieces here, and would not have turned my nose up had I paid cashy money for this piece.

Yeah I don't think french fries and Pringles are self replicating, no wonder the cold shoulder. Potato starch does a great deal to prevent strokes later in life. Been loving the stories, keep em coming!

Been lovin' doin' 'em!

(that's a lotta commas ._.)

It's a nice scene with great subjects, only I think the background is lacking, the center subjects hand and wrist seem a little off. No idea why the few early votes you got were so low, but you did get a new follower ;)

viqqah responds:

Thank you so much! I'm trying to improve my backgrounds so I hope I'll be able to present an interesting background soon enough :)

Never played the game, but as a member of this site, seen countless representations of this lady, and this is likely the nicest I've seen. You never fail to impress Unibee :3 Reminds me of the very detailed box art they used to have for Atari 2600 games, so yeah, high praise for this piece!

Don't lose this one, it's pretty neat, extra dimensional.

Well, after seeing some our your other works, can tell you, you aren't going to see many reviews of your art, only high scores. For a subject obsessed with death, you sure brought this fella alive, like no fuzzy photograph or artist's rendering I've ever seen. Hope you enjoy the site, and can stand all the youthful enthusiasm therein.

Very lovely piece, quite telling, though it's nice you spelled it out in the author's description. Everything's nicely laid out, proportioned, etc, sure glad this practice thing got out of hand ;)

Very nicely rendered and realistic looking, big improvement since you first starting posting your work here, best wishes!
