Primary problem being: microwave radiation from my laptop, which is over a decade old. I tore some stuff in my left hand, and it hasn't healed yet, so I gotta lay off the typing....

Hell, thinking back to it, my Apple IIc was a cooker too, but at least it was a lower frequency... and I was a younger man. Still, it dries out my tobacco and makes a precarious dinner plate warmer :|

Didn't know computers were capable of emitting microwave radiation, I'd always though it was something different... though equally hazardous. Good knowing. Possible method for motivation: walks. Potential method for (more) happiness: forced laughter first thing in the morning! A long-term goal! Death at a Funeral (movie, the new one).

All charged objects (including all electrical devices) are capable of creating radiation, "microwaves" are just a low energy electromagnetic wave, there is nothing "different" just weaker and stronger waves. most electrical devices are capable of emitting microwave radiation,. And due to their low energy (even lower than visible light) in and of itself they are not harmful because they are incapable of creating ionizing radiation (the type of radiation that can fuck you up, the reason you put on sunscreen to block ultraviolet radiation). of course, given a large enough dose of microwaves can cause thermal damage, even less energetic radio waves can burn or be physically harmful, but computers don't emit nearly enough power to do that, except decade old laptops that overheat :P
so VicariousE, sounds like it's time for you to get a new rig :P
