You want the power of Disney to overthrow the rebel faction, and by being an opportunist use the chaos generated by the second change of regimen to impose your old NG ways.

You figured me out, need to change my devious plans for Newgrounds domination... I wouldn't mind the old review system, used to be... quite precise, but since NG is trying to go mobile, doubt that will happen.

Comments in order!! :D

Shame Tom just hollered at me and psychogoldfish, when you and so many others were looking forward to this day! I couldn't just say thanks and split.. also suggested the feature in reviews, along with a best/worst helpful toggle too. It's simple things like that, that keep this place up to snuff

Well, thanks to their very handy thread subscription feature that shout-out did reach me in good time. ;) I'm wondering if this feature update will make the next announcement though, should go to show if they feel it is as important as itreally is... yeah, that'd be useful too!

Tom made a post about it in the BBS somewhere, got a page of mostly good things said.
'Subscribing' to a thread was a great idea, never knew I needed such a thing :)

Almost hit the 'Show Oldest First' instead of 'Add a Comment', phew. Ahh, that's the shout-out you were talking about! Yes indeed, just like the Edit feature that seemed to be not meant to be for so long I actually started believing things were better without it!

You doing anything for any of the 20th anniversary collabs? I just signed (subscribed) up for the writing collab, though I don't know how collabish it will be, probably just separate submissions. Whirlguy has a list of the individual threads... music's over with, but the others are still on.

Was that "Show Newer First" option always there? oh man finally!

Sticks out like a sore thumb, but it's there and it works throughout the blog-o-verse

I don't care if it sticks out, they fucking finally addressed a solution to this shitty as comment system of theirs!

Glad I could persuade Tom into action, just a shame to bring it up at his party, ya know? Maybe it was the 2 jars of pickles I left behind... nothing says bribery like pickles lol

I've been planning on it since I first heard about them, though... still haven't signed up. Should probably do so before the deadline suddenly looms and I'm coincidentally totally busy with other projects I should've started on a long time ago! Seems like one of those once-in-a-lifetime collabs... well, once every two decades is pretty close, should definitely do soemthing.

Hopefully Tom will promote the remaining projects, and we'll muddle through somehow. Whirlguy's covering what's left, insomuch as he can http://whirlguy.newgrounds.com/news/post/928263

Oh well, just like Top Gear, ambitious but rubbish ;) What happened to the days, where college kids would celebrate Clock Day and do stupid things on NG's behalf? Everything's so user-centric anymore :\

Hope so, surprised at how little activity there is skimming through them now! Except for the audio one, too late, damn. Signed up for writing, hope to sketch something for the art one soon... could definately give voice acting a try if that one happens! If the 'Voices of NG' doesn't become the 20th anniversary thing...

Mmm it's like people don't have time to be creative now, too busy partaking in other people's creativity, watching others play games, play sports, sing songs, have fun... passive interaction's taking over!

I went to 3 places, and no one had a USB microphone for sale :( I'm sure some of those TF/McDonalds drive-in headsets are okay.. but not for me |: You'd think a 200$ motherboard would sport something better than a mono 1/8" audio input?

Passive... like the people that came over from YouTube, after Tom allowed video embeds, the 09ers...

You are a hero, or maybe the real heroes are the pickles? no we will never know...

The pickle in my pants is the anti-hero, that much I know

If you have firewire you could try an external soundcard/box with XLR input! Real quality recording! I tried a USB mic first (bought via dx.com btw, they have tons of very-budget alternatives, not to mention free shipping worldwide) but it didn't work too well, either my internal soundcard's just not good enough or the USB connection just wasnät good enough, way too much static even if the recording quality was OK.

But back in the day all those people who now populate YT must've been here! And creative! Something happened..

From what I can tell from reviews and VA's here, the best I could afford would be a Blue Snowball, hopefully one with stereo, really need to research more, the big store's websites have surprisingly crappy spec sheets...

NG takes time to enjoy. Google/YT's search function along with the sheer amount of content, is a definite advantage. I guess folks don't want stew (different content) any more, just a chunk of meat...

Lewd.

I guess. Aren't we all persuaded by our animal urges and emotions?
At least the comment order button looks nice now... maybe we'll get lucky and they'll add it to reviews.

Well, anything that connects via USB has certain limitations, but I have heard good things about the Blue Yeti, guess the Snowball would be similar, seems like good quality/budget balance.

With all the stuff you find over at YT, it is like a stew though, people sure stoop low, just eat the common duplo and don't bother with the new old.

Thanks for the reminder, haven't seen the Yeti listed (in local stores/sites), wonder why? Crap, might as well order something from Amazon, instead of something off the shelf... always figured it was quicker, and if the thing was shit out of the box, easy return as well.

True that! We do a good job of self-policing content, even if we don't do the volume of YT, we still don't get that many worrying submissions... despite our reputation, which mostly comes from BBS bullying/initiation of newer members, and usually honest reviews.

Neitz has the writing spot above mine... I wish I could take a baseball bat to (some) his huge paragraphs, break them up into little pieces, like a ripe watermelon, all ready to eat...

Well all I've heard are recommendations, hope you don't just take my word for it. ; Personally I'd recommend something like an Inspire M1394 and then a real studio microphone of choice, but they are costly! Yeah, easy returns is the real benefit of real IRL commerce.

Our self-censored community's a work of wonder! :D

Haha yeah, some of those text blocks are very... solid! Doesn't seem like writer's block is ever an issue but maybe... reader's block

Fuck, I'm almost ready to set up my Siennhaiser (sp) shotgun mic, I think that's an 1/8" mono plug, if it is... it picks up a great range! It cost about 250$ new in the 80's, picked it up for 30$ :)

Readers block, just so. At least we've got over a month to do it, maybe Nietz will practice some self-restraint; keep the words, add the indentations/structure (and yeah, who's saying what) :p

I see you're surrounded on the writing collab, me too! Looks like a good lineup of talent so far, just hope the few I've contacted off the BBS, step up and join. Looking forward to writing about Captain and Steve on a sortie... tie in the other characters and events that precede my place in the collab

Oh, never tried one of those, looks really sound-sensitive? No trouble with background noise? Looks good though.

Haha that too!

Ahh you'll be collabing with Nietz! :D Was pondering that #18 spot, but 6 is like my trademark, the numerical value I use for everything where values don't account for any specifically important amounts. It's filling up quick! Wonder if it'll be boosted to 25 spots if all 20 are filled soon.

Nah, it's a nice mic, quite directional, saved my ass a few times, and sounds great, very little noise.

I chose #19 out of respect for Stephen King's Dark Tower number of destiny/honor/ka-tet. I wouldn't mind adding spots, so long as we had good authors to 'end' the piece well... although it's still early enough to shoehorn people in, like 5.1 would be the person you collab with... I'm not going to be able to start, until all the people above me have gotten their stuff locked in O_O

Sounds good!

Ah, hadn't read that reference. Oh, yeah, not having to wait too long was one of my considerations for getting an earlier spot, you never know how long these collabs might get delayed if some people start getting delayed, and stuff... seems I'll be leaving on vacation right before the celebration too, but right after the collab deadlines. :P I thought Jun 21 was the anniversary at first...

Good thing you got on the list early! I don't mind waiting for content to adapt to, hopefully it will be a constant stream of new stories...

Yepp. Should make for some pretty exciting writing towards the end of the story too!

Tie-ins, hooks, minor characters popping up again, should be quite a challenge. I'm still inviting people to join the collab, as well as the other 20th anniversary thingies.

You bastard!! Never take a baseball bat to a watermelon https://iraffiruse.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/1266021844421.jpg

is that the mic you used for your games/audio submissions

Now all we need is a pic of a destroyed KFC lol

Nah, used a cheap as chips Radio Shack condenser mic, my second to best mic.. or so it seems. Haven't tried the clip-on mic in a while, takes a weird battery. I'd really prefer a USB stereo mic, it IS teh 21st century O_o

I don't care about the reviews order, frankly, why would you go around reading everyone else's opinions anyway? most of the times not even the authors themselves do.

If I don't feel like reviewing, I'll click teh helpful thing, if I find one worth clicking

I'm liking the ability to see newer comments at the top again.
Along with being able to post more than one time....

Can you post more than once? Maybe you mean after a refresh of the page, like we used to do?
Yeah, sure is nice, really!

Yep you can now. Which is great since I was getting more than a little irked about that being "taken away" and whatnot because the submit button got all unclickable after you commented.

Found a glitch this morning, where commenting on a new blog with no comments, put html on the screen, and not the news post page in question, Liljim figured out what I meant and fixed it a few hours ago. Musta happened after the link got turned into a button on the header...
