A guard got pregnant? for real? now that is negligence if i have ever heard of it, haha. Now i wonder if the kid developed just fine, quite the unusual pregnancy story...

No clue... the amount of crap that goes down in my State and county, are enough to bum out the strongest of minds :| But really, it all boils down to human nature.

Hmm, so that page 7 included above was censored! A rather innocently sinful event, it seems, I was expecting wild nudity and mild profanity. Btw, how many of the Asterix movies have you seen? The un-animated ones?

I guess the layout (and laying about) and word Orgy was enough to cause concern... Hm, don't think I've seen any of the live action movies, just a quick trailer for the last one they did, I think... odd. I've seen Asterix and Cleopatra (have the DVD), Asterix and the Normans/Vikings (avi file), and the rest... nah, too hard to find in English!

Or drugs, it can bowl down to drugs and circumstances too, you know nurture vs nature.

That's true... and money, don't forget the root of all evil!

Oddly enough I haven't seen any of the animated ones, just all of the live action ones... at least the newer ones, even one of them on the big screen. The mixture of real, similar-looking characters, and completely unrealistic special effects is a bit odd, but they were good fun. Which movie's the one with the milk bath btw?

:) Asterix and Cleopatra... there's probably a YouTube clip of it out there; amusing song lol. No boobs or butts, just her very top half.

Well i don't consider currency the root of all evil, is more like greed and spending outside the realm of necessity, i believe that i remember that i found about that after reading the part II of the republic of Plato, when people started spending into things beyond their needs inside their virtual exemplified Utopian society, their society started to corrupt a little, and inequality started to surge, nevertheless the Greeks weren't all that equal to begin with so for them it was natural...

It is the root of all evil. What might seem like an innocuous tool, is basically a fertilizer for the worst elements of human emotion and ambition.

There will always be inequality, but it's up to the 'haves' to support those willing to learn and work hard... unlike the government, who has been traitorously favoring the stockholders of fortune 500 companies, and in turn, they accept 'retired' intelligence officers, to direct policy and public opinion, on behalf of the Administration.

We are now subjects of the American Empire, not citizens of a representative government. Why do you think I've stuck with Asterix as my avatar? Roman or American, empires must be challenged.

"learn and work hard" yeah? and what kind payment are to get all those hard workers mister Vicarious? if money is the root of all evil?

Indeed being anti-empire is great, and the connection to our theme is perfect, and it reflects into the sad reality of our current times, but still, trade as a way to indulge into commerce is too limited and eventually a coin will surge, so no! money is not the root of all evil, is luxury and depravity, that these things can be prompted by money? yes, but we can get rid of them and people will find the way to cheat the new system, specially with more ambiguous things like services, or now with digital goods, people will get underpaid, others will overcharge, and things will start to stagnate and degenerate.

finally if we never change of course inequality will remain a given normal thing, but following that what is the point of being anti-empire if in the end inequality (which is going to always be there, under your mindset that is) will just birth a new empire? aren't we just admitting that this is a pointless fight against an immortal foe?

My solution to this is education, conscious education about the respect of others, but under a religious scheme or a juridic/legal scenario, but rather a moral and social one, like i said before Plato pretty much had the idea but in his times the concept of lesser beings outside the polis practically justified slavery, which by our current values is something wrong, all the more he justifies war under the pretext (a real sound, decent and rational one) that when 2 nations exhaust their terrain rather that merging they will have to wage war to obtain the land and resource of the other, but under a current well executed dialog this can be avoided, now i understand that for this to work we will need to create an environment where convenience could flourish and that this would be hard as hell, but i don't see it as an impossible thing, maybe that is why i don't see the homogenization of personality inside neuroscience as a that much of a bad thing( while i still admit the horrors that this can lead to), but then again a world filled by clones may not be better than our corrupt and chaotic times... so yeah, what do you say Mr. Vicarious?

Ideally, there shouldn't be any war or privilege (inequality), but there always will be. But real representative governments don't allow it. By having a 2 party system, we have signed our rights away to two bureaucratic bodies, which are perpetually bought out by the same interests.

It's never a pointless fight. We should always aspire to be better and expect it from our leadership. Instead we settle for "good enough".

Ah, school teaches kids how to worship man's law, and doesn't respect anyone's religion in the slightest. Now that i look back, the moment of silence we had under Reagan's tenure was a good thing - it gives the kids a moment, to reflect on their parents' and Gods' teachings, and NOT the States'!

So, you admit that Nations go to war over resources/land aka, money. It's always been about money. And sure, school has made us all passive subjects, and not proactive citizens. Sure, the tyranny of the mob versus the tyranny of the throne is a delicate one, but we've been swayed by every possible means to allow our government, to break the law, plain and simple.

Cyberdevil you are missing out, Asterix and Cleopatra is quite mainstream, just like the Christmas specials of charlie brown, is one of those cartoons you can be sure to see if you watch TV for a whole year, sooner or later they both pass by, of course the Asterix one is way better than the peanuts haha.

Actually, the Viking cartoon was much more classy than that old Cleopatra chestnut.... Dunno what to make of the Peanuts... guess it was for the best.

After Calvin & Hobbes and Tintin, Asterix was my favorite comic . Definitely the best drawn :)

Yeah, should've spent more time on Tintin. I've got all of Calvin n Hobbes cartoon books too! Well... there's some Asterix comics that have been in print for a few decades I'm stil missing.... it's still being printed! This one's coming out next month http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterix_and_the_Picts

CHANGE IT BACK NOW!
;w;

Wat? My icon? Ah, I'll let it sit for a few days, then change it back... I even improved the background :)
Big deal, Asterix got gray and swapped his short sword for a binary sword, w00t!

For a moment i was thinking about Hägar the Horrible, but that is a comic not a cartoon XD, so the movie is from 2006? quite a new one!

"but under a religious scheme or a juridic/legal scenario" i wanted to say: "but NOT under a religious scheme or a juridic/legal scenario[...]" that little word does wonders.

Yeah i admit that nations go to war for resources in which money is one of them, but not the only one. In our capitalist system, yes money is indeed the most important resource, thus getting a big scope, and since capitalism is quite old (as old as the first merchants decided to amass richness), i will say that many (just to not say all) wars were waged over money, this i have to admit.

But is not money itself the source of "evil" let alone all of it... but what it grants and how this is manipulated just from a conceptual point.

Is always going to be a dictatorship, only that this one is directed by the people, my hope is that this people once they get to power, that they could posses knowledge beyond the separation of creed and state, sure no form of actual government will be willing to do such thing which clearly speaks of a total loss in the grasp of power, thus this task is for the people to do by themselves, of course in my system inequality can end(and if not it can be greatly suppressed to not said reduced) by a system of communal circles banded together without a particular head, which again explains why i am finding that new neuroscience model so appealing, it seems like a shortcut to a world with little differences in opinion, and that of course also means the possibility of a bunch of refined meat drones... whatever happens, it doesn't seems like is going to stop... if anything it is getting new budgets, so my reasoning is that at least we should use it for what at my eyes seems like a greater good, well "good" compared to the current state of things.

Hmm, there might be a Hagar the Horrible short out there... seem to remember one from the 20th century, but I cold be mistaken.

As far as political and neuro science, your guess is as good as mine. What you seem to describe is a form of anarchy with a socialist structure... sounds like a post apocalyptic America, after the bigwigs in Washington have all but destroyed themselves, or at least, that's what my brain conjures.....

Ah, found it, though the Panther steals the show completely: http://youtu.be/Sl6wUVaw3oA

Nice icon btw, that the picture you were speaking about? Ideas of an Asterix-themed Madness flash pops into mind, hmm...

Ah yeah, a black panther! Wonder if anyone tried bridging the political group with that critter? Probably not, the Black Panthers were a US thing in the late 20th....

Pfff, Asterix could never use projectile weapons or splatter head contents... he just rendered minions and baddies unconscious. Well, I tried to make a Madness day pic, but GIMP wasn't importing gif's correctly, so I pussed out and just did an icon.

Well it wasn't black, it was orange. :P

Ah, a family friendly Madness flash were foes are knocked unconscious, fly away or run away, hmm... that would be different.

Yeah, just a hint of blood and plenty of contusions lol!

Mmmh so there is a Hagar the Horrible short? i guess i will have to search, i remember it being quite funny, in its efforts to induce a bachelor life on its readers, because really that wife of his really deserves the tittle of horrible haha.

Yeah you could sum it up as a type of anarchist socialist, in the most Utopian of contexts, i think i'm fine with that resume.

Yeah, it was pretty similar to the Lockhorns, another feuding family cartoon strip. Seems like another nail in the coffin of old word values... portraying marriage as a problem not an institution.

Mmmh i never get to see the Lockhorns, matter of fact firsts time seeing them, but his wife seems just as obnoxious as the one from our viking friend haha.

Hard to tell in retrospect! I haven't gotten a newspaper in sometime... shit maybe Drudgereport should have a cartoon index! In the early days of internet, I used to try and keep up with the funnies... but the pages got more complex, yadda, yadda.... took the fun out of a daily web routine..

Now I just come here, check the news on Drudge and the weather... the fucking State newspaper website got revamped and now is as bad as local tv station websites >:( too many ads and shit script running.

So...Wow

Nostalgia

When i was about 12 I remember drawing a bunch of little comics about that character but I never knew what exactly it was from. In fact i dont think I read any of these comics but i must've seen them somewhere. I called my version Raavlag King of Norway

Thank you so much for coming to my post! It's funny, I've got some blood relations to Norway. Hope the comic pages I ripped were inspiring at least (sorry about the large file sizes, I've got some commissions and these are ref materials).

You are quite a talented animator and illustrator, and hope you can find your way through the 2D/3D variety of techniques, to your satisfaction :3

Well i for once just check gocomics.com for my comics, but to be fair most of those are re-runs of old already finished or in hiatus comics, so yeah i myself am not really not in much touch with newspapers either.

I used to have a bookmark subfolder with 2-3 links of the major cartoon distributors, back in the day. But even those syndicates and companies dried up their self-distribution, for their newspaper paymaster's sites instead.

They had Bloom County, but no Outland or Opus :( Still, was good to see the author's links alongside their old works. Funny, Outland (the movie not the cartoon strip) was one of the few scifi classics my Ma liked.. said it reminded her of what union folks are like O_o

Man to think that unions are seem like criminal activity nowadays what a rotten world.

Come on man i tell you that money is not the real root of all evil, there was evil before currency was involved, sure it is an incredible enormous help to human selfishness, but what about power? what about lust? what about just plain gluttony and inaction, are you going to blame those into the lump that is money? well yes you can... but before you say something "like told you all this time"those things can perfectly execute without the need of money.

So a millennium from now i say that we will be doing some war in the moon and mars, over some stuff to benefit some individuals that feed in the excuse of a general threat, like always...

They got a bad rap now, yeah, but unions helped keep money in America's pockets... the ones who do the work, not pay the market.

I'll grant you that, human emotions can be twisted and abused at will and costs nothing ;)

The tree of liberty must be refreshed with blood, from time to time.

All done. http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/776565faeede8b15e70c93204b10ac78

One less thing that Zachary can call me a liar about now.

Hey, that came out okay! But... didn't you have longish hair? Bzzz, a little had to get taken from the back, huh? Ah, screw those kids, what do they know about life, family?

Money is not evil, the desire for money is evil.
Power is not evil, the desire for power is evil.
Gluttony pretty much goes hand in hand, with above.
I don't see inaction as an evil, moreso a disease we should (and do) collectively work towards to cure
Lust isn't evil, unless it gets to the point where an individual will go out of the way to wreck a relationship for their personal pleasure

True, money and power are neutral. Inaction can certainly support evil, seldom does it benefit good (sloth). Ah, lust is like coveting, which certainly doesn't help matters any... TV is basically a covet-machine :|

Long hair, hell no. I shave my head weekly. When it comes to my hair, 2mm is 2 long. It will look better when it settles down. Did you see (?) I sent you an email with some shots and a video too.

You're right, I goofed! Somehow I thought (remembered) your extremely short hair wasn't; just pulled back into a crappy tail (like mine). Haven't checked my email within the past... 30 hours?

Damn, your scalp fooled my memory, it looks good! I know mine wouldn't if I did that... I'm a little younger than you, and those tall hair days of my youth, still... haunt me O___O Maybe this Halloween, I'll punk out my tail, like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Londo_Mollari That would totes sweet :3
