Was hoping you hadn't burnt potential prior savings on such luxuries. :) But some day man!

Haha it seems you're really tuning into the iRace world at least? :D Nice. Yeah he's got skills but I'm still usually a step ahead! Helps that he's an ambitious kind of person; doesn't spend as much time playing games as I think most of his generation probably does!

Poor people probably do statistically stay poor and often fall victim to a desperation or lack of resources, and rich people statistically stay rich, but as some fame and funds dwindle and those folks lose all, too can the unfortunate rise through the ashes and become their dreams!

I feel like this particular class system might be worse in the US than anywhere else in the world right now though. The poor don't seem to mind as much everywhere either. Well-working capitalism keeps leeching on those with less. Lawyers and dirty tricksters: wonder if they're really a worldwide phenomenon... ever thought about moving someplace different entirely? Somewhere with more wellfare; safety net; potential to climb up a bit and maybe get a comfortable farm life going again? But maybe there's still hope where you are?

are you connecting to the site ok? past week or so's been very bad - I can usually get to a personal page ok, but after a few minutes other pages of content just time out, it's been very frustrating

Yeah it's been fine over here, no problems at all, actually now that you mention it it's possible it's loading faster than usual, nah, can't be can it...

Possible the grid's overloading a bit where you are? Too many people online at the same time with the holidays closing in? Hope you get that sorted though. :/

It's possible but I doubt it's from simple local use, even tried a vpn, content pages like the front page, bbs posts, all take a shit and time out. This area's usually hot for attacks, and since the google/youtube thing last week, thinking the botnets

Seems some others are having problems with the site too but different kind of problem here: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1461313

At least these are posting somewhat ok... dunno about chrome, looked like missing css and other stuff, but at least it's.. kinda functional.

Been trying to enjoy the new GTAO DLC, another heist but talked too much last night (almost 20% humidity, woke up early coughing)... hate when kids type faster than speech, I'd make him use discord to speak but he's got a mild malaysian accent and a voice deep as hades, good kid tho

Google/Youtube got attacked last week? Gotta read up on that... I heard y'all had some real troubles accessing the service but over here it lasted a minute or two maybe. Was writing an email in Gmail, had a little trouble loading my contacts, refreshed and it was OK. Check in on the BBS and apparently it was down entirely elsewhere. Directed US attack hmm? Russians?

Bot attack sounds probable then. Problems with sites outside NG though? is this the only one you have issues with?

Don't be catching the 'rona now! Sounds like fun, I'm falling behind completely with games but: currently testing an indie JRPG by random NG user here. Hehe, when it comes to English I think I prefer writing too. Forgetting how to speak. Vocabulary seems tied to muscle memory somehow, seems to be a clear distinction between how you phrase things between writing/speech. Unless you use both to an equal degree.

Trump's foreign policy is good, but he doesn't like to contradict other nation-state leaders who can verbally counter attack on a legitimate level.. he doesn't want to lose face. In the process, Russia's skunk works have gotten away with too much on many fronts. No idea about the 'net.. likely bot attack that only seems to hurt the med-small guys like NG :/

Not a nice challenge, trying to avoid the flu. Picked up mass effect andromeda the other day, finally have a game that fires on all 8 of my old amd's cores, just gotta watch the pny video card, they aren't noted for l33t architecture lol

@Cyberdevil @Nietzlawe @Doomroar
10 more days and we've survived 2020 lads

Yea this year seems survivable, 2021 looks to be the year Earth suffers escalating earthquakes and 'the' tsunami :p

The 2 major gas balls in our solar system in conjunction (I was told) sets up all sorts of chaos for the beings of our world, maybe even more than that

@S3C @nietzlawe @Doomroar Aaand just four more years to go after this!

I'm not suicidal per say, but not happy about sticking around under such tyranny and chaos either lol

Huh, heard him and Putin were pretty good buddies, but that'd be that mainstream media skewing things up as usual over here then. For shame though, small guys like NG shouldn't get caught in that crossfire at all...

Until I read the full title I was thinking mass effect andromeda was the name of some exotic flu-like disease. XD Never got into the Mass Effect games but they do look awesome. Remind me of Bio Shock a bit, though only scratched the surface of those too. So many unexperienced gems still out there!!! Still alas such an inexperienced newb when it comes to the wide world of gaming. Some powerful hardware you're running at least, bleack economy or no. :) Nice.

Ah the calm comes after the storm too though, t's finna get better, just gotta ride it out a while more! Four years is supposedly the 'plan'. If this really does last four years I'll be pretty convinced but hopefully not now...

@nietzlawe if only people had a bit better economy those would probably sell like flies to the storm. :) Attempted to auction out some stuff just before Christmas now, usually the best time to sell stuff, but not a single thing this year! At least over here you get the impression thing's aren't so different overall, just a little extra social tension and what-not but: that really makes me wonder how everything finna shift if this keeps up. Social order crumbles. Politician wrap-up mumbles. Time to back up jumbo gumbo; head out to the outdoor cow tour...

@nietzlawe I wish how that's how we all felt about it. :) No lockdowns but so much drama, so many old people getting mistreated; put on morphine; subsequently dying... back when it started the hospitals had orders to put old people in particular on respirators if they had any trouble breathing, which of course just made it all worse. The 'rona spread quick between elderly homes in particular thanks to careless workers who circulated from place to place... from an insider perspective it hasn't been all been handled that great but I shan't complain. Y'all really do seem to have it way worse than we do.

In the end are more people really dying than they would a regular year either? Does seem like we've somehow been fed the notion that everyone has to be saved. Impossible. The world can't work that way in a way that sustains us all. I wish the media would focus a bit more on the positive. Let people know how they can stay healthy and optimistic instead of scaring them to death, but of course, also to respect your elders. To stay home if you're sick. A sense of community would go so much further than panic mode.

You think the water'll really take over entirely? The UK does seem to be sinking but as for the rest of the world... Northern Sweden's actually still ricing a centimetre or so each year since the ice age.

Hope we do get in that right mindset. Appreciate the day, but don't forsake the future because of it. Don't fuck up the world entirely just because we don't live forever. Party responsibly y'all! YOLOBTCTNG!

There has been and will likely be much worse bugs that take out double digit percentages of the human race... this was not the time to crush the planetary economy. It was time to wear masks, tell adults 'it's your world' and practice proper hygiene, as well as make health/sick leave a focus

Well, a flood/tsunami doesnt add water to total liquid assets, but it likely would add some, due to break up of antarctica, displacement of above sea level landmass into the oceans, etc. Just because we're entering a solar minimum doesn't mean we're free and clear of deadly solar phenomena either.

I'm quite sad you know

Could start drinking heavily. Being incapable of happiness (anhadonic?) might be treatable, but the drugs used might make things worse... True resolve means you can deal w/ the things you can't change, and still have the power to carry on and thrive despite the unchangeable obstacles

I'm quite glad you know

Good, run with it, spread it around like the plague until
you get quite sad you know

I'm quite bad you know

Badness is funner than goodness, I guess... Wilson hasn't been cooperating with me on the subject

Well said.

Somewhat scary prospect that it might be possible for the water to really wash away any mass that transcends it. If all mass levels out the water just rises above it. No more land. Considering the ratio that might be a possible scenario did the storms come in with greater and greater force and all but... doesn't seem probable for a long time at least. A lot of land around after all. More mountainous regions. And currents seem to push land together as well as take it away. Maybe we overestimate the waves.

More water than land, rotation of the Earth can't be discounted, just as the depth of the oceans... not fond of messes either, but considering history/past civilizations being far away from oceans, seems legit.

Time is a face on the water, and it does tend to march on.

Btw I'm a tad rad you know. Can't stand to slow. Go ham and woe will land no mo'! Confidence builds if the pan does show. If you seize to pander and ramble gold. Don't ponder yonder, it's stranglehold. Strange times monger. Dangle low. High at the lowest the lands can go.

sounds like nice prose, but contradictory.. or I'm not high enough to draw the right conclusions

True true. Some past civilizations do seem to have been buried by the waves though - supposedly they found the mythical Atlantis a while back. Yet then again there being deserts where previously there were vast oceans gives hope that tides may turn a different way, and indeed ancient civilizations of which the remains remain. And so too all volcanic activity on the ocean floor. Tectonic shifts and all. At least until the core cools down enough for such activity to seize it seems land may keep popping up to replace whatever's overtaken. Or not. Could go the other way. As it is though it seems only coastal cities really have to fight the fight. The Netherlands of course. Worst case it seems possible to build walls. Or terraform ourselves. Dig deeper oceans and make for all the more surface to live on. In unity ain't no stopping community fluency!

And yes, like life, like me too I feel, contradictions are humanly. :)

Flesh is a contradiction to logic, no worries, it handle on the ground realities

They say the Dead Sea couldn't have been, without a major Biblical flood. Just odd it won't likely refill again, but other areas of the globe certainly will :p EU will likely be spared from the flood, seems fitting, since they've been through enough already

you're quite rad you know (yes I know I Cyberdevil already used this word, but I planned to say it the next time I came on)

radical in all teh wrong ways, but you're rad in the right ways, believe it, you're more than you know

You're all kind of that and oh! Remindin' me of this old banger: https://youtu.be/GsF05B8TFWg

We transcend logic hmm. Till we're ground down and alas, no more, mere mortals thwarted that immortal awe.

Hmm, since the UK left the EU I guess that's true. Only land mass I know that's slowly sinking.

Wat Venice and Holland not sinking? Thanks to a drought, California's sinking due to deep well water drilling... place is an environmental disaster

*kind of as in I don't know how much y'all know, of course! Sounded maybe mayhaps kinda cold. As compliment intended maybe kinda undefined and bold.

whats up, vicariousE?
its me, chris! we used to talk a bit in the past, both in your newsposts in here, and in PM's too, and in gamejunkie's newspost as well..

whats new with you?
i hope that things are better on your side nowadays, and that you are in a better position than in the latest years...

on my side of the story, things are OK, i've been mostly busy with irl stuff, work and other things, and with the lockdown, things have been very strange and disturbing...

but now things are somewhat stable, and i hope that this whole mess will be over soon.

as for art, i still do flash movies and i participate in big flash collabs from time to time, so thats good.

let me know if you wanna talk with me, be it in here or via PM's...
be well my friend, and have a happy new year!

(much appreciated)
