I thought the intro graphics and text ran a bit long, possibly could've been more text during the segments, to denote relevant facts about the contributors on-screen, facts about the site and/or what was being talked about. (Thanks for leaving my bit in, about the FBI in the mid-to-late 90's, it's stuff like that you never read on Wikipedia.)

This is an excellent tribute. How better to honor a place, than with the voices of the people who go there?

Seems ever so slightly drawn out after the first few bites, but it does synch up well with the background music. It's a bit slow, short and simply rendered, not usually a good combo, but the mouth movements and audio are spot-on, the pathos is palpable, and the punch line is solid.

I'm not really into shorts like this (about mainstream movies), but this was a good one. Change one little thing, and where does it lead you? 'It's a comedy', only scratches the surface... not sure if I wanted to know what was underneath, maybe it's what I needed to know, to be a better human being.

Short, kind of a one trick pony, not a whole scene, but kids seem to retain little lessons like this. It's just a shame it wasn't more of a theme or a series of examples, to drive home the moral/life lesson in question.

Aside from that, and the sparse backgrounds, this is a good little thing, another feather in your cap!

Timsplosion responds:

What life lesson? He just set the kids on fire. :/

And he's not just a one trick pony - he can kick real hard too, if you watched the first one.

Lol, that looked like my life while editing Cannabis Happiness, my mid 90's indie flick... and the TV show that came afterwards, which was way worse (more cuts using cassettes). Being in the windowless room, vibrating along with the equipment... yuck. Nice frame rates and character embellishments,

5 stars for cramming a full feature movie, into a few minutes of on screen action! Really glad this got a daily award, the author's previous works are just as impressive.

KFoxyFox responds:

Yes, I am delighted to get another top 5 trophy :)

The ending was a bit puzzling, why were the child and teddy out of focus at the end, were they beyond the view of adults? Although sort of minimalist, the models, moves and sounds were all quite attractive. Animation was smooth, I liked the overall feel and subtext, the transition from big paint lines to a finely drawn teddy bear was a bit awkward.

Overall this is an excellent first submission, with great intentions and results. In the future, do what you can to convey visual and expositional context to your tales. Or you could check out the writer's forum here, shop for a story to animate.

BitterBrushAnimation responds:

all notated. i will try to convey visual and ex-positional context better in the future. ^.^ i will check out the writers forum but more for advice rather then story's to animated. if I am animating someone else s tale i imagine i wont feel the animation is mine anymore (that doesn't really make sense does it? >.>). but who knows maybe somewhere down the line i might. Thank you so much for you feedback! ^.^

It's good to see a Madness animation take daily first place inteh off season :)
Very nicely done, though I was hoping for a little funzies, like the landing pad making a squeak when one of the guys landed on it, or just having a momentary happy moment, in the ballet of destruction ;)

Really enjoyed the Grey Poupon gag, along with the timing, expressions and gestures. Nice tasty treat!

I remember this when you were still working on it 2 years ago, congratulations, you've a lot to be proud of here! For sake of later improvement, I didn't care much for the stagnant eyes, and the girls huge eyes were stuck in perpetual shock, really made looking at her difficult! I felt that the flute notes sounded way too synthetic, especially when the girl played for the last time.

Aside from that, the sub-text, overall look and pacing of this animation is extraordinary for one person to complete. You may have only gotten Daily 3rd place with this (rotten luck), but it's sure to place very high in the monthly voting, This is definitely a classic, and I'm glad it's here at NG
