We had a vote on Mayor, reps. to the State, couple other assholes and sports gambling.
The problem with voting in the US is simple: everyone chooses a side and sticks with it. We've had an immensely gay two-party system for over 100 years. Why? It's easier for the special interests to manage (pay off and influence). So by fair means and foul, the other parties were eliminated.
It's like what my friend's father once told me: Politicians are like babies' diapers. If you don't change them frequently (and at every opportunity) you are going to have a lot of shit. Shit breeds disease. Disease breeds death.
That's the state of the nation we're in. Hip deep in dictatorial crap, and no one even close to the flusher. Anyone care to comment on our eminent demise?

Why does the comment number thingy show one more comment than there actually is? Political commentary. Sometimes it's as many as four comments over.
Our country really sucks when they have to monitor and sabotage an innocent little web site like this.....
That never happens to me. The number of comments it says compared to how many there actually is, is always the same. :P
I've been here since 2001 and sometime around when Facebook came out, this has been happening. Problems porting the old acct. through the ages? Guess I've been through at least 3.... redesigns, I mean.
I've had that happen to my journal as well. It's only a recent thing, I first noticed it a couple of months ago. I don't think that there is conspiracy behind it, I think the backend is just falling apart in places :P
