New News Post: Bad Parable(s)

Posted by VicariousE - March 24th, 2023

Just before the 'plandemic' I ran out of money. I took my change to bank and redeemed fiat paper currency, to pay for insurance. One day late. Car insurance cancelled.

Then I relied on cached foodstuffs - rice beans drygoods. It didn't last long. I began to scav ciggie butts, dried them out in my 1$ toaster oven, then rolling them with my grandfather's industrial roll of ciggie paper circa 1970. It sure smelled like a 1970s airport/public space. Once I got hungy, traveled further to get.... to stay, alive. This was mid 2020.

I found a fellow farmer, who was an emigrate from central Italy, who gave me his remaindered pizza. It was a mile away, but worth the (risk) of a drive or walk (along a 50 mph road w/ limited sidewalks)

Those pizzas and rolled ciggies clogged my arteries. I am so much closer to death.

Death of free speech is no easy matter. The closure of General and Politics is a setback for the kinda cunts that frequent this site. Make no mistake, this is a fallback not a defeat. I feel that one day, the idiots that try-hard (stat-whores, militant-debators) will be abated, or at least on-notice, that spurious speech to gain post-counts or logic-points towards other Newgrounds members, will be moderated. But not by moderators, but by simple common-sense

why does the devils number plague me and my discord id #?

That is an incredibly cheap toaster oven! Second hand find? Didn't know you could get anything at that price over there... no chance you could quit smoking? At least such substance that isn't good for you... it's sad to hear you going down a road where there probably is potential to at least test some other paths. Start growing your own, getting fresh vegetables, maybe even living off the wild land somewhere... Into the Wild was a fascinating movie in that regard. A true story no less. Even if it ends with unfortunately wild potato poisoning and death...

On the bright side it's nice to hear there are people there who're willing to help out; at least some sense of comradery and compassion in this day and age.

Hope you don't give up though; keep going; keep trying new things!

General closing was unfortunate, but I don't think stat-whoring had any real part in that, the ones who care not for what they post, or about the culture they contribute to, seem more so the ones who end up occasionally deleting their posts entirely, and leaving the site, deleting both content and accounts at whim, caring not just not for stats but also not for history or legacy or in any way the impact that has on others. Stats are... a good thing, IMHO. Need not compromise reason, quality or free speech.

Speaking of devil's numbers I have a devout Catholic buddy with a 666 in his cellphone number, somewhat entertaining. :) Numbers but numbers.

(regarding the lawn-sale toaster oven) My Pop and I had drainage work from a longtime Chevy assembly-floor engineer... favorite restaurant also en route... anyway, along a common path, through a part of the world that held onto notions 2-3 generations past, a yard sale. A Father passed on, a Son diligently wanted his hoard sold (not chucked) to simply help, as his Father once did. Waste is one of those mortal sins, or at least, unfavorable to the general scheme of things.

And yea, hm still smoking ~ a pack a day... Maybe if I tried harder to get fish and tomatoes into my diet (seemed to help my autism back in the day), I could give up ciggies. The booze, is another matter - used to be ok w just coffee and weed, but considering the challenges/environment, yikes

Just read the wiki for Into the Wild... shame it didn't play out like On the Road

Despite my reticence around people, have made some (local) friends since my Pop's passing 10 years ago. My older friends are the ones who've done the most though, and I've done my best to reciprocate.

Hmm, well you'd know better as to the state of the BBS than myself. The world's a big place and motivations are aplenty eh?

1st cellphone had a 666 extension... ah well, at least I lebbeld up from #666 in the NG rankings

Mmm that's good. I love yard sales, or second-hand sales of any sort really, though preferably without there having to be a loss as a precondition for said items being sold... sounds like a bargain anyhow. That's nice. Indeed not a fan of wastefulness either, all too much of that these days, though I think we're getting better. Overall it seems like a lot of people are starting to repair rather than throw away, even when it costs more to do so than just buy something new - which probably won't last as long as whatever quality ware it is you're fixing - few things seem built to stand the test of time these days.

Damn that's a lot too... so boozing also? Apart from the potential health detriments these seem like expensive habits too. Fish and tomatoes huh, wonder if the Lycopene in tomatoes is the essential there, apart from being a pretty powerful antioxidant it's said to make you happier too, tomatoes are good stuff.

Hey I guess you know you can plant tomatoes with fresh tomato seeds too? Just need one good tomato now and you could have a lot more this autumn. ;)

On the Road (2012)? Adding to my watchlist, sounds nice... Into The Wild seemed more so to be a statement against the system; current social norms of the world, but I love these journey kind of movies overall, feels like we're all really built for that kind of adventure, everybody ought just walk out and explore the world when they're young, and hopefully find a place and purpose that way, almost feels like a biological requirement for settling down. Go wander, find yourself, learn things and grow an appreciation for stability in time.

That's cool. :)

Mmm that they are! Stat-whoring was definitely a detriment in the old days around here, seems the culture's shifted a bit since, though remnants do remain...

Ah nice. XD Congrats on the #665 too!

In regard to numbers I'm curious, do you believe they actually do can have an impact on anything, do numbers, like symbols, have a value more out of superstition - what value you give them - or really a value in themselves? I mean for example if you had no idea what historical connotations 666 in particular has - could it really have an impact on anything, be it not then just another number among numbers?

see above post - still new to blog semantics :p

Waste, ever see Cherry 2000? Main character seems to be in 'reclamation'. But yea, my grandparents (and by proxy my parents) were into pack-ratting valuable substances like: leather and plastic. And yes, at least in this point in time, repairing things over 4 cpu cores seems like a good investment. Solar also a good investment

Termatters/tomatoes good stuff. Same with fish oils. No idea if there's any research on the subject for autistics, but in the end, u got a flesh prob, then nutrition important

Usually good tomatoes have viable seeds, but these days, no idea. They've been raising sterilized versions for generations now. Love those old Italian mountain strains

LOlz, On The Go from the 1950s novel... 'wither thou goest, in thy shiny car in the night?'

Shit Joe, when it comes to numbers, I recall an old book regarding symbols. In ancient British naval records, 1 six meant sea swells, 2 meant moar, and 3 sixes (round part of the 6 at the center of the symbols) meant significant tsunami/land infiltration, as well as tidal elevation.

When it comes to numbers, I can only wonder how heavily 'God's Plan' relies on obvious math and/or indications. Perhaps a hint of truth in evil deeds is required for... evil's end goals?
