So, for many nasty reasons, can't afford internet at home or on a phone.

I've really missed having the time and heart to talk to you all regularly, guess it's gonna be even worse now.

Tough to keep up, and worse, when I'm a day or 2 late on internet payment, they outright restrict access to a lot of sites, NG partially included, have to navigate through people or submissions, then it clears up access a little. Can still torrent, discord and youtube, but other sites are hard blocked, UDP is blocked, so I can't download steam updates or games, but can still log in
Oh damn. Thinking a lot of jobs might get impacted by this corona thing too. As for restrictions: some free VPN maybe? Opera's built-in thing?
Had thought about it, but my ISP would likely block any download of the software, it's a really odd way to limit connectivity, going after certain sites and protocols.. wouldn't mind it so much, but they're charging me a 50$ 'reconnection' fee every time I'm 2 days late
Hmm would've been useful with some local installation files of anything you might need at such times... hella expensive extras too. No way to get that money two days earlier?
picked up windscribe VPN for when i need to get updates, get around the blocks, blew most of the GBs on playing w/ the guy that recommended it.. that and the memes take up bandwidth, but can get by
Just read Cloudflare's offering their VPN to small companies for free through during this corona thing. :) Maybe not applicable but maybe, opportunities...

Got the bill paid.. wasn't rly a problem w/ bandwidth so much as what they were blocking. And yea, very crazy in the NYC area, some of the newer laws went into effect as soon as the governor's ink was dry, local cops scrambled to enforce, just fucking madness
Ah. Do you think this is the start of a real surveillance state, or maybe more so a wake up call? The thing that'll get people to really stand up for their rights and integrity again?

what state did you think I'm in lol? Been in California for about a year now, was in Arizona before that. Both are reporting 3000-10000 cases per day for the past weeks but knock on wood the deaths % is smaller than 2-3 months ago. I'm getting worried about my elderly relatives and friends back home...
glad to hear your doing ok now, eat a balanced diet (zinc, vitamins, probiotics, hydration are particularly important in these times), take daily walks (try to jog a little too), and I would say not too stress yourself out but I fail to take my own advice
And here I'm thinking 'no way could I mess up those states, gotta be New Mexico', yup, sharp as a bag full of wet mice I've been these days. Yea been walking enough, insofar as it doesn't deplete my fat reserves too dearly. Gonna hunt out some dandelion leaves, should hold me over for a while, could dig up Rodale's and see if there's anything else, but a lot of species have washed/died out and foreign ones stepped in.
