Interesting, so that means that the last day is not really the last day at all, is gonna suck more tho, because you have to come back to a place that is no longer yours.

or rather next to that place, yeah. The tenant next door lets things that bother her slide, so she won't pay for repairs and deduct the amount from her rent check, like we've been telling her to do. Luckily she doesn't mind if I come around to BS, cut the lawn or snoop a bit. I did live there for 8 years, so did my parents, grandparents, at least a half dozen tenants before and after I was there. I'm likely going to get a hunting camera for when I go to PA (to watch my stuff), and hide it outside next door after I move out, to monitor and time when the kids are there... gonna need a bigass flash drive.

Not creepy at all.

She;s got a sweet deal, not only living beside her sister and brother's houses, but also very cheap rent, considering this is a high rent district, even a small house is well over 1K$ a mo. Oil heat, but at least we got her a new one last year.

aha, its good to hear from you, and its sad to hear such alarming news...
yes, i saw in your earlier news-posts that you had no internet and that you've sold your old farm, and like then, i feel really sad with all this.

as for the housing options, yes, its good to have wade's help! :D
hmm
in case house/land prices are too high for you, then buy a cheap trailerhouse/RV/(small house-on-wheels), and find a place to park it...
its the BEST option, for low money. (compared to buying a house, that is!)

as for the cats... ugh.
buy a dog, much better company! (lol)

also, nietzlawe has a good idea here: write a book about your life, it would be a good read, and an interesting story to share...
i would read such a book.

(and according to your newsposts, i can tell that your writing is honest and good).

anyways!
i wish the best for you, and may you get back on the good status!

For a quick rental place, I'll likely get a hold of Wade's RE agent, but to buy... too pricey in Buck's county. Kinda surprised RV's and trailers cost half as much as a regular house, but less than half the living space... I was never much for laptops lol

Cats are disposable pets and they know it, somehow that has an appeal to me, but not by much! Growing up on the farm, away from the encroaching suburbs, I didn't have much to do when I was really young, except play in the woods, or on my Pop's junk, or with the cats. I could spend my money on a face transplant, and be the next 'cat whisperer'... but likely, there already is one on teh idiot box...

Fuck books, there's video games out there kid! I wouldn't mind writing one of them, again... but I really don't count my 20th century PC experiences as experience :\ You're very kind, but I think at heart I'm a stuck up prick, and an extended writing exercise might just prove it...

Thanks for your support bro, I'll do what I can to table my fears of the unknown and get settled down under the right auspices.

What does that have to do with the cameras? do i have to call Mr Hansen again?

Aren't you the psych major? You tell me... I'm at a loss for a lot of concepts just now
Who Hansen?

You know which Hansen: http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/000/205/251/hansenlol.jpg

Doomroar with the smackdown!! (What happened to civil engineering pursuits??) Just one of the countless examples of man's life being ruled by pussy. Speaking of shaved vagina, have you stopped by Toastie's page?? (it's NSFW) Also, thanks for handing out my 500th audio review!!

Glad to hear you got internets back. The world is a little less darker and horrifying now.

Not really... my mouse died the first time I accepted a Heist job in GTA V online >:( Kinda surprised how decent the players were. Then again, this is the foist (1st) time I've ever really played online!

Yeah, I did an Unreal session or two around '08 on the company computer once, held my own quite well... Did a LAN party playing Burnout and Postal 2 later that year, but it's the only high point in my cloud gaming in... well, ever? I always figured it was better killing the guy or girl sitting next to you, on a shit res tube monitor, on 2 player.

Not sure how much cleaning people have been directly marginalized as attention to public health, sanitation procedures, and measures to prevent the spread of illness via the CDC and whatnot has increased over the years. This is certainly true in the hospital setting, and (hopefully) in most food industry settings who have to follow laws in order to be allowed to keep their business running. Still cannot control any complacency to de-germ in individual's personal lives though, which is only increasing in this f*cked up, hectic paced world. In fact such 'over-protection' is part of the problem. Without exposure to pathogens to a certain degree, especially when young, the body will not develop as strong of an immune system. Hence, when they are exposed to pathogens when older the body cannot initially fight it off.

Not to mention factoring in the natural course of virulence evolution...bird flu...pig flu...zombie flu...H1N1R2D2 flu...

Heads of sanitation department, infectious disease control management people make decent salaries. The actual people who perform the cleaning procedures, can be taught and adopted by anyone, make minimal salaries albeit being equally important and more often than not in this economically tight era is a duty bestowed upon the institution's workers themselves. Now not everyone can bounce and chase watermelons the way NBA players do, it's also hella entertaining and sells (ESPN just signed a 9 year 24 billion contract with the NBA), hence why they make the big $$. I don't think it's inherently wrong or right, but I will say it's one of the major caveats to capitalism. Now travel over to Nordic land where a bench basketball player makes roughly as much per-capita as a cleaning lady. At the end of the day both nations are first world countries where diseases are comparatively low. Regardless of the socio-economic system all regions face the same problem, but just solve them with different motivations.

UV-C sanitation rooms are commonplace in hospital settings to 100% sterilize any equipment. Find a cheap, safe way to market this to everyday homes and workplaces, and you will have the salary of a basketball player :P

You are so right about bugs dude, I should've kept that in mind. But in a public setting, I'd prefer no bugs at all, in the off chance someone with a compromised immune system were there, licking tables or something. I think having a UV B/C light go on in a fridge for a few minutes a day might be a good thing... though wouldn't it break down plastic and food stuffs? Lysteria sucks :p

Still fascinates me that, getting ring worm as a child, pretty much inoculates you against asthma in later life!

The public library where I went for 3 months was disgusting, had to leave early a few times thanks to the lack of vacuuming (foreigner dust, hack-hack). Hey, you hear about the Legionnaire's in NYC? My Pop was always scared of that bug. Then there's a new chem resistant lice traveling across the US, sigh...

gonna have to pump my own @ss soon

Did you read ss.newgrounds.com only BBS post?

Hard to believe I got so wrung out yesterday, draining the dead lawnmower of oils and fuel , filling the scrap container with shelves Pop and I put together, when I was a younger person |: Now that's there's no money to be made here, everything of value picked clean... hard to find help. I don't wanna lose my 5k deposit or get sued

when i first met you, you were 40, now you're 42, yet i missed both of your birthdays >.<
hope everything is going great on your side :)

I didn't know you were back until today! I have to leave my home soon, gonna miss the farm, hope I can find someplace better to live.

Hate to say this, but your profile and user pictures... ewwww!

What?? you don't like ice cream

strange...account was hacked would be my guess

it's time to start a new chapter in your life, let go of everything, start anew in this f*cked up world. Early fourties; still plenty of good years left to work and make good memories. Who knows, with the way the planet Earth is becoming I would expect lots of work to pop up in the agricultural and sustainability sector, soon...

That... didn't look like ice cream

My sociology teacher once said, true freedom, is being naked in the woods, with no one else around. Fuck that. The two tractors are an asset I can't let go (though I wish I was better on the backhoe). A buddy of mine's been sending me links to property in NY state that looks okay, but none of them seem to have any wires going to the hunting shacks/small houses, kinda worrying.

>waffle cone
what did you expect to be in it, a scoop of mayonnaise?

true freedom, is indeed being naked in the woods in solitude, true heaven is being naked in the woods surrounded by beautiful naked women (and hell for them lol)

don't sweat it dude...when resources are at the brink of mass desiccation, and these specious "economic foundations" which deceivingly make the Earth spin 24/7 inevitably crumble, people will once again value what it really means to be alive, and your skills will be worth as much as anything else in this f*cked up world

Still, eww.

I guess it depends on which branch of religion you follow, A Newgroundsian sect, I suspect....

More than one skill is the problem, jack of all trades, master of none. I'm only really good at being a floater (not the turd reference lol) and a cleaner. Farming can be quite scientific, but I go at it in a holistic way, same with some other shit. Thanks for believing in me, maybe the proof will come out of the pudding soon.

What?? so you don't like ice cream

A Newgroundsian sect of the Baha'i faith!! The only way to live

Yes, a jack off to all trades sometimes is unfavorable. But living as a specialist can be difficult too as there simply isn't jobs available for niche areas of work. For example, if you were an expert at growing bay leaves (just thinking of the most useless edible possible lol) but you can actually farm multiple crops and have experience, which is useful. You can also build sh*t, clean buildings, probably maintain and landscape to a certain degree, fix sh*t, build computers, all practical stuff that's useful (and marketable) to society. My dad is another (successful) example of a jack off to all trades...he has an advanced degree in mechanical engineering. He's done computational modeling, aerospace design, automotive design, infrastructure development, worked with nanomaterials, amongst other things. Nothing overtly specific, but the whole field prepares you with a breadth of practical skills, he really understands the physics and mechanics how everyday things work. Opposed to a sciencey guy like myself, who has a hodgepodge of knowledge on a plethora of subjects, but not a strong foundation on how to engineer useful products to make $$. But that's just the nature of the beast, and why science is often restricted to academia/research.

Agriculture and other fields can be approached from a scientific angle, and should be if we intend to understand our work on a deeper, more intellectual level. But such understanding doesn't bridge the gap between "the books and reality". The science is nothing, without the actual physical approach itself. To make an analogy, you can have the "science" behind writing good poetry down to a T- all the appropriate grammar, syntax, conventions, prose, an elaborate vocabulary- but what good is all this scientific knowledge if you don't what to say in the first place?

My father had a chance to be a mechanical engineer, when he was a few years older than I am now. The company he worked for wanted to pay for 4 years of his college, and allow him to work part time. He declined, partly because I was in grade school, partly due to not being able to earn enough.. and to avoid a 4 year commitment, that would likely drag him away from the nuts and bolts, and more towards paperwork (horrible speller, good math wiz, could 'crib' numbers in his head)

You say true! Not everyone can express themselves correctly, to utilize their knowledge to its fullest. Ah, most graduates can adapt to real life, just takes motivation and need... along with patient friends and colleagues. I don't think my sister had that after she graduated; the drive to succeed is good, but must be tempered with self-reflection

yeah, my father was in the same boat (but not really), I think the company he worked for paid for his master's (or some graduate equivalent) which takes up considerably less time while I was real young (not even in school yet). It seems employees with more academic credentials are put behind a desk, and those with lesser schooling are given the wrench, hammer, and WD40. My dad actually did a lot of the core engineering to start, but now these days he's focused less on the hard science side but instead managing larger projects...and definitely dealing with that paperwork you mention and communicating with other coworkers and clients...and makes more $$. Funny how this society places the people who manage monetary decisions on top while the more creative and intellectual minds behind the projects get less recognition...

Well, like I said below, I see people in their forties all the time having a change of heart, 'retiring' from the military, and coming back to pursue (further) education. If you were ever interested, maybe a field along the likes of sustainable engineering would suit you. Of course it would take a ton of dedication on your part. You could also just go for a technical education or a two year engineering AS which often turns out to be more marketable than a four year degree.

Anyhow, not sure why I bring up school so much as if it's the best way of finding work in life (it's certainly isn't nowadays)...i guess it's what I know best

Yeah, I've dwelled too much on introspection, but never really had much drive for making success in this world, but more so trying to provide value, and seeking out the intellectual rewards. If only all these platitudes I spit out had some actual bearing in reality.

It wasn't just the paperwork, but pride. My Pop would've really laid into some of the assholes at work... and since it was a union shop... think we all knew it could only end badly. Even with me, he'd get pissed off if I didn't know something, or took a different approach to his - he didn't want me to fail or waste time doing a half-assed job.

Finally, some practical advice! That type of education might well suit me, though it's a bit overwhelming considering how important the work can be, and to how many. I've only got so much money coming to me, and maybe the investment in time would better serve me, than withdrawing to a patch of dirt, blending in with what few locals are left... doing not much of anything.

No, no, I completely understand. I like running my own races too. I doubt I'd be a good team leader, but a strong part of the team. Too many brown suits in my closet, with sharp brown patches on the elbows... I recall a few male teachers saying that in school..
