Right there with you man, my machine's still a tad busted and trying to produce 3d animations but i keep hitting the wall too many damn times.

Never forget, you're still a part of newgrounds, whether it be frontlines or sidelines, everything and everyone matters.

I'm waiting on a Hi8 camera to play back my old footage, from Walla Walla Washington |: Hope it actually works, I dislike taking expensive bets, but it's all austerity now... this time next year a used PS4 might fetch 200$, that's how precarious things are now.

Yeah, but is Newgrounds a part of the world? This place just gives me an outlet for sparing some time for the non-mainstream content creators, and to be nice |:

what should i post about most of my posts that i make don't really have people commenting how can i get more people to comment VicariousE

from madyellow

I guess if you ask questions, people will be inclined to answer, like, "How's my work, What would you like to see on this character, does anyone know an easy way to do this?", stuff like that. Also, if you tell a story about something that happened to you, people will probably comment.

If You Are Going To Decline My Bestowment Of The Original NewGrounds Groupie Than I Insist That You Accept The Title of Senior NewGrounds Horticulturalist

Capitalizing every word makes me think superghandi64 might've been your alt O_<

Uh, it's nice to have a choice? Guess I'll take the first one, since I've met a few farmers here, who do the really high output stuff, not a small time veggie grower like me.

nah, I was capitalizing every word before he did, superghandi just made it fashionable

well i guess I could think of something else...but who else on newgrounds is as knowledgeable/productive about gardening? Well there is Cyberdevil of course but you hold seniority i'd say. I thought your main career was a farmer? Or do you mean it is, but you don't just produce as much as others...well quality beats quantity, 1.) beats mass marketed grocery store stuff, for example 2.) especially if you grow specialty crops

I wish I lived in California, they grow all the interesting shit :')

He was about as fashionable as a brown plaid jacket with green bellbottom slacks.

Nah, it was never a main gig, but I had to farm from ages 7-20. After that, my cousin planted most everything, but my Pop would keep a row or two to himself... sometimes. The deer and brids can be awful, in fact they upset a few hills of pumpkins I put in. They were covered in poison, so they spit them out, and a few are growing in between rows O_o Should probably at least try to transplant them...

Yeah they got some tight-ass farms out that way, machine precision for miles on end!

so what is your main gig now anyway

:| Cleaning the farm and adjoining rental house for sale. Farming is just a way to stay sane and make a few bucks. I'm in such a suburban wasteland area, there's not much decent work around here, unless I wanna work in food service.

don't sweat it dude...the go green/organic/local/raw/probiotic/hippie/vegan movement will eventually bring you more business in one way or another...

Costs at least 2 grand to get an 'organic' yearly cert from teh 'garden state', but I've heard it's as high as $10,000 USD, otherwise, it's false advertizing :| They have some cool swag though (old term meaning interesting free gifts for signing up). I know of a few big 'fruit stands' and the auction, and I'm allowed to peddle door to door in my hometown, thanks to an old law.

Oh geez that's a lot of money, what measures does the USDA actually take to make sure crops are fully organic? Reminds me of a local study where molecular biology students went to a "health foods" grocery store to test if an organic labeled corn chip were truly organic (if you see corn or corn product labeled as organic in all likelihood it's not, as pure corn is commonly the non-sweet, hard, less edible stuff), looked at it's DNA and found that it contained the promoter DNA from cauliflower mosaic virus (or some other cauliflower gene that aids in plant defense and/or induced gene expression) thus implying the corn was genetically modified. I guess it's hard to truly know from a farmer's standpoint, when buying the seeds and such...what actually is the natural stuff?? It's not like hippies would trust government anyway, as long your local, small-ish and use natural methods (no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc.) that's sufficient marketing right there. GMOS be damned...it's not like you played the mad scientist in the laboratory yourself to make X-Men vegetables...

what measures do you take to prevent disease and small pests anyway?

Dunno about the USDA requirements, or even the State ones (since I'll be leaving soon anyway). All I know is that kinda oversight wasn't around when this farm was going at full tilt. I know enough about manure and pest deterrents enough to technically grow organic, but I sparingly use mild chemical fertilizers early on (10-10-10 / 10-0-10), then switch to lime, so the produce develops as cleanly as possible.

But holy cats yes, the seed stock is definitely screwed up, more so now thanks to GM crud cross pollinating with older seed. Even before GM plants, tomatoes hybridized to stay fresh longer (and bounce higher, and taste of cardboard), have been making normally good tasting tomatoes, rather crappy.

Never really had too much problem with molds, viruses and such. Bugs can be an issue, especially with leafy stuff like Brussel sprouts, cabbage, lettuce... usually use some type of pyrethrins or soap spray or somesuch... I usually try not to grow them because of that, but we'll see.

What'd you think of JUGGERNAUT II: Uprising? I've heard that the guy who made that is cool, a pretty dashing fellow too.

Lol, he is quite a cool and attentive guy! I really liked all aspects of the game, though the battle graphics were a tad lacking. Maybe quarter screen sized pictures of the characters while they were talking would've added to the ambiance.... The medals are a nice touch; the script and all the things to read were surprisingly good, so I'll do a second playthrough soon - gotta catch all them medals!

Don't hate the seed...hate the game

then switch to lime huh? then how do your plants get the NPK nutrients later on, or is it not necessary after providing the first amendment.

where are you leaving too?

Nah, can't hate the game, birds do their part too.

The nutrients are already in the ground, I just like to kick start the vegatative process early on, especially since I planted late. Also as time goes on, the weeds become more invasive, so early fertilizer kinda beats the weeds to the punch....

Dunno. Once the farm is sold or lost, I'm on my own. I don't have much in savings, not enough to buy a dwelling outright, and have anything left over to begin again with

Haha, thanks man, glad you liked it. Yeah, next time around the graphics will be far improved. Most of what's in the game there is about a year old and I've come a long way since. I'd like to do some FF-style high detailed enemies to make better use of the space on the battle screen too.

The battle time intervals and xp increases are just about right, no extensive grinding needed to level up. However(!), there could be safe zones where the enemy doesn't Pokemon appear so fast! When you enter or leave an area, there could be a few squares where the enemy doesn't attack, just so a player can get his bearings, figure out which way to go.

why would the farm be sold? I thought it was passed on to you

and to my older brother and sister, who live in Californialand. They want the money and no liabilities.

do they need the money though? Have they thought about what you would do or where you may live afterward?

Everybody needs the money :| Taxes here suck anyway. They're playing my disembarkment 'by ear', guess I'll have to as well.

Well to me it seems like you're torn between staying and leaving; remain with the farm for old time's sake, because you're holding on to a possession of your late father (RIP) and you've grown comfortable with the place- or leave as it has become a less suitable environment for farming and because NJ is just poor for health in general, as you have mentioned/implied in past comments. Since you're outnumbered 2-1 on whether the farm goes, perhaps it's time to look forward and move east, use your new money to start a California farm/vineyard/winery while you revive your career as a television content producer. As a matter of fact, I might do the same...btw, only seems fair that the proceeds split 50/50 opposed to 33.3 all between you and your two siblings, since you took care of the farm after all.

That's pretty much it, but they'd never go for that kind of split. It's not in the will.

well that's just the way she goes eh?? i know it's not any of my business, but I'm going to put down two copper lincolns anyway- since you work the farm anyway, and have kept it in (relatively) good condition all this time, it's only fair that you get some compensation...otherwise the farm wouldn't sell as good, needless to say. Besides, they are dislodging you from your own home, wouldn't they want extra cash to start anew if the situation was upon them?

Or perhaps the farm is worth much more money than I'm assuming...in which case 1/3 of the of the sale is more than enough money to find your own place and live on your own while you find a job to make ends meet?

I'm just lucky the estate isn't charging me rent.

It's a good farm, but would make a lousy housing project, thanks to some hills and the next door project, which lets its storm water drainage seep onto our property. It's complicated, and the local builders don't want to risk the ire of the local/county/state stuffed shirts... the big fortune 500 builders would have no problem doing whatever though.

I like the way you write, what was the last book you read?

Maybe 'The Rum Diaries' by Hunter S. Thompson... it's been a while! Before the internet (and adult life), I had plenty of reason and incentive to read. Now it's just online news articles, the NRA magazine, and whatever bills come in :\

Oh wait, I read quite a bit of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parker_%28fictional_criminal%29 series of books. I liked the movie Payback with Mel Gibson, so I dove into all the books my library had (only 3 or 4). I like criminal caper/mystery stories :) and Stephen King novels, especially the Dark Tower series.

You should see both movies!! Especially, Slumdog Millionaire, one of the greatest soundtracks of all time! And a great story romanticizing life in the Punjab too, but I'm biased lol

I'm sure it's much better than the Top Gear India excursion |: I haven't seen much recently of real life India, but it looks like a rough and ready kinda place, kinda like the colonies before the McDonalds chilled everyone the f out.

Went to check your page to see where on Earth you're at, and realized you're almost as old as me O_O

So I don't know if I ever told you, but I own a Mosin Nagant.

I blanked out and thought a Mosin was a type of European car! Yeah, the one in the gun ads, my neighbor had one with a bent barrel. Fired quite a few shots before he figured it out... he grabbed barrel right at the bend, after putting 2 or 3 rounds through it... very hot! A few more shots, and the barrel would've shattered from fatigue!

Do you know what specific model it was?

Nah, sorry man, it was 30 years ago, and I was a kid at the time... it's amazing they've been selling those old guns for so long, you'd think they would've run out by now.

It's funny, I found my cousin's 22 bolt action breach loader recently, he won it for 25 cents at a seaside game, he got the right number on the wheel... he wasn't over 18, but his Pop was there. Love the sights on it.

Well the reason why they keep popping up is because I believe 26 million Mosins were made and alot of stockpiles are still being unearthed in Russia in crates of 20.

Almost sounds like the car caches/hoards here in North America...

Haha, yeah. If you need another rifle, Mosins are pretty cheap.

Eh, it's like buying something used on ebay; cavet emptor (buyer beware). I can't get anything nice, till I'm out of this blue state, though I'm going to apply for that 10 day waiting period clearance thing pretty soon.
