I'm glad you had a good time after that ordeal. Honestly, if I had been invited on the first of April, I would have thought it was a fairly tasteless April Fool's joke.

I wasted a good bit of time, sitting around smiling at the talent all around me (like a tired loon). Nah, the email came from Tom @ Newgrounds... completely legit, though, I had the very same thought after looking at the first page of text (which had way too much info to be fake)!

After I scrolled down the guest list, I knew in my heart I got the 'Golden Ticket', as it were :3

Are you really 40?

Born early October, 1972, at the dawn of the Information Age.
How many years have you ducked under the pole?
Ahh, it's the mileage, not the age. I guess I seen my fair share of stuffs......

Excellent post!
I have to say, this was an extremely detailed representation of the event. This is quite similar to my impression.
I really enjoyed the experience, and I did remember seeing you there. :)
I highly doubt Tom would think you were poisoning him, hahaha. Your gesture was incredibly kind.
Now that you know what it's like, I'm sure your next visit will go even better ;D

I'm very touched. Thanks man, what you said really means a lot to me.
Ha, I really didn't even write about the event, just the preceding events. I was floating around a tad and saw things, which I guess I have to try and add.... but as they say, it's not the destination, but the journey ;)

A good read. And thanks for inviting me to come with you, but I was taking a several week break from the site at the time. Sounds like you had a lot of fun.

Thanks, and no problem! Must've been a complete break, if you've never been to Pico Day before. I was so willing to take the truck and meet folks halfway, but in the end, my sis reminded me the truck's part of teh 'estate' now (and that's her) :p
Either way, I had an accident Tuesday in a parking lot, after about 1 1/2 hrs. of grueling physical therapy on my lower back. The guy's little (manual shift, at least) Jetta taillight got busted, sales-rep... we shook hands after the cop had given us the final word. He said, "Aw that's good, maybe you guys wanna go over there to the bar for a drink."
I laughed and said, "Yeah and about an half an hour later, you'll be sitting, waiting outside."
"Nah, I get off-duty in half an a hour. I'm done for the day."
More car insurance drama :< Pop's stupid V8 extended cab pickup sucks.... roughly all non-commercial road vehicles used to be about the same height, up to the early 1980's, then the mini-van and more high center of gravity chassis' hit the roads :|

so at these meets, do you guys refer to each other with your NG aliases or real first names?

I mentioned both my names, but mostly folk kept to their NG names (to be less confusing), unless they had mentioned them a lot on Newgrounds (for professional/contact reasons).
