Yup. Thought I bookmarked the article. I'm sure it's based on a Brit's invention that the military scooped up. Produces an inverse sound wave, kinda like the reverse of feedback, since it's almost instantaneous. They make headphones that do the same for airplane flights... you can sense volume and s/n (signal to noise) like 'pressure', but no outside noise - creepy.
