I learned a few helpful things from scouts... like trauma first aid and killing and gutting things (nowadays they call that animal cruelty)

I learned killing and gutting things from books, tv shows, and human anatomy class l:
need industrial sized forceps if you learned that way.... still, a damn good basis for knowing things

i did longbow at school. I made one that killed a rabbit... haven't got the arrows for my compuounfdbow, which my buddy gave me (he ebay bought it and never used it.... he had to move so....)

Naaaah. The forceps are just to make it look perty. Most of it is really bare hands + Blade :l
Yeah it gets slippery though, unless youre good with a knife (dami).... you can cut a handle in the hide, it's just more you have to sew later, if youre keeping the hide
I only know cold weather tanning - brains and hard wood ash and water soak, but that's after the hides have been boiled and fur scraped th hell off

You know if you put your hands on the exact right spots on someones skull and compress with enough pressure :3 you can get the cranial sutures to dislodge, and then push individual cranial bones into the blood-brain barrier ;D
