Animation and soundwork was spiffy, but I just don't get the symbolism or the punchline: brain and stomach (or is that a lung?) The old saying went, "The surest way to a man's heart, is through his stomach." meaning prospective brides should be good cooks or something.

Watch the first one. You'll find there's no deeper meaning in this whatsoever.

Impressive plot, characters and character design; the setting is a nice take on the ol' good versus evil tale, and given a mortal perspective on the ethereal. I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation of this ride up the lift, it's quite rad!

I found this eerily compelling to read... gah, I've been here too long

Good first submission! Can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this, and it did a reasonably good job of holding my attention. So... what happens after our protagonist hits the bottom, maybe he finds ancient mining robots from another epoch?

Dreadfully short, hardly expositional, but the intent is there, best of luck with the project!

StarLockStudio responds:

Thank you for taking a look, expect more soon! :)

Fuck yeah, this made my day and then some. Meatcanyon (damn sweet username btw), this came out perfectly. It showed vision, it showed heart, it ticked all the appropriate boxes with room to spare. Big bonus: a plot that keeps you guessing, from the moment you read the title and see the thumbnail, to the very end.

At first I thought these guys walked off their jobs without punching out, at 11:58PM...? Anyway, anyone that ever worked 2nd shift for years on end can tell you, it can make you kinda squirrely, but oh so ready to party. I'm really satisfied with the entirety of the script, top shelf stuff yo.

Comedic timing and graphic shortcuts (except maybe the last slideshow montage, some of those stills could've been a little more detailed/expositional) worked well throughout the animation, and I don't think it was lazy in the slightest! What the fuck, I mean, you animated this thing completely by yourself, you have to scale a few things down to get things done, or risk getting bogged down with things that don't necessarily need detail... but that said, having effects like a blowing newspaper, or random background element in the background, can be a whole plot unto itself.

When monthly voting comes around, I know this whopping 10 minute odyssey is going straight to the top of my screen. I trust you'll take my review to heart, as I've been a member here for over 15 years, and been in the business of story telling.... back when metal was a bit more mainstream, and cries from the wilderness were seldom ever heard (late 20th century, pre-internet).

meatcanyon responds:

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this. I'm glad you were able to connect with it. More content coming very soon!

Ah, I usually miss 4:20, and this year almost forgot about 4/20 O_O Thanks for reminding me!

Ah, now, if you were an American of voting age, I'd likely be a little more critical in this review, but since you (the animator) are not, I (an American citizen) can tell you this was very well done, across the board! Tasteful job, of a somewhat distasteful man, that takes a bit of finesse.

I decided to fan you, because you mentioned to another reviewer, you'd cover the other side of the coin/party in another animation. If I may, I'd suggest (for Hillary): dodging imaginary sniper fire in Bosnia, and a cameo of Bill, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

Anyway, glad you're enjoying what's sure to be, our end as a nation and all, good show!

StrebloMedia responds:

Thanks for your review. I'm curious to know what difference it would make if I was American? PM me :)

Ugh 13 year old hot dog burps, classic? I guess Germaine was a 'hipster' before the name was even coined, so extra half a star for being prescient.

Excellent, it's like a breath of fresh air! Glad to see improvement from the known Madness animators, as well as the newer ones. Every single one of you guys/gals is my hero :) Really liked Dudingdarn's part in the collab, hell, anything that expands the scope Madness is okay in my book.
